Now you want an argument about debating.

The time for debating this system has passed. Its here to stay. Its a waste of time to debate the system at this point when thousands of people need to understand it first. Let people ask questions and learn how to play. We can revisit scoring in a month or two to debate about further adjustments.

sandy bell - to your question, the answer is there is nothing in the system to prevent that.

Human players control the dice and they can do what they want. Much like with the old system #1 can hand out whatever place he wants to his allies, same thing goes for people abusing that at the end. Hopefully the player community frowns upon that though much like pre-trucing a game, for example. But yeah if someone wants to kill em with kindness they can.

"Now you want an argument about debating."

Well of course. A debate about debating would just be silly. :p Like self referential fiction. Or auto-biographies.

Ah, the statute of limitations on -making a very good point- has run out already for "This game is more about luck than strategy now", has it? *shrug* Ah, those things always catch you by suprise. You're just trucking along, be logical and junk, then WHAM! You're no longer valid or worth discussing. It's a shame to see it happen, but alas.

@Grunvagr
What I liked in the old system was that as long as you were alive there was still hope. In the new system there is the danger that you may lived for too long ...

The most effective way to make outcomes more based on skill would be to allow people to allocate their own dice. The luck associated with rolling is trivial compared to the impact of this random distribution of dice.

Too many aspects of the game rely on luck...territories, rolls, dice distribution...this game is nothing more than roulette compared to risk

Its approx. 2pts per place. And the dominance points are are already determined for the previous rounds.

So at round x the following are the current dominance placings:
A 3rd approx +3
B 2nd approx +8
C 1st approx +11

At this point there are only 3 players left and about 4 points up for grabs. If the game is manipulated so that C is 3rd for dominance the ending result is:

A 2nd approx +8
B 1st approx +12
C 3rd approx +11

Note that 3rd does not drop in dominance since those points are the points he's already earned before the players manipulate the game.

I should also point out that if they flag and end the game, (saving passing 15 rounds), the scores would be something like this:

A 3rd approx +8
B 2nd approx +10
C 1st approx +15
