We all know that sometimes you can get killed before even having a turn. my idea is this:

Anybody killed before the end of round x exits the game with their rank being unaffected.

For the remaining players, rank would be calculated as if these early eliminated players had not been in the match.

x could be somewhere between 1 and 5 rounds.

thoughts?

I agree that its fun to try to dig yourself out of a tough situation, but losing 153 points because of bad start position isn't that fun considering its much harder to gain that many points, especially when in the over half the games i'm about to win the server hangs and i get no points at all. the game is still fun, but the swings in points are kinda aggrivating

Then I recommend that as soon as you get a high number of points, stop playing. The Elo rating system has you tied to the average with an elastic band.

What Tech don't say to you, is that today at one game we where 7 players in the middle of 14 round :) very nice, no?
