How is it decided where the reinforcements come, and where not? Can we influence where the reinforcements will be put?

Thx for the answer! :-)

It's random. You can't influence it.

dice are placed always random or far away from the action or worse: evenly placed... the dice of your enemy always get suitably placed...
hehe.. no.. it's random ( I HOPE )

To make the game even better, luck should be minimalized as much as possible.
That's why you should be able to influence it in some way.
It wouldn't be the first time I lost a game just because of bad reinforcements.

I agree that random luck should be minimized. Perhaps the reinforcements are always placed along the front (where the action is) OR at the rear areas (since they're protected they are producing new resources).

Yeah, and let's add continents and give bonuses if you manage to hold them. And maybe cards. Oh wait, that's Risk.

In all seriousness, while I sympathize with your goal of eliminating as much of the luck as possible, part of the draw of this game over the many online Risk games out there is the drastic reduction in time commitment. Adding manual placement of reinforcements would likely double the length of the game. And there are elements of strategy in coping with the random reinforcements, so it's not all bad.

I agree with leucaruth. One of the strengths of this game is its fast pace (compared to Risk at least). While the luck factor of reinforcement placement is annoying sometimes, you can learn to play around it. Try to anticipate where your reinforcements will be placed and adjust your strategy accordingly.

All the better players I've seen play anticipate reinforcement placement and adapt accordingly. It add alot of depth to the game.

Reinforcements are the dice you gain at the end of each turn. If you have four connected territories when you end turn then you gain four reinforcements that are automatically placed.

The random placement is a fact. Accept it. Deal with it.

Like the others said, it needs to be this way, to maintain the pace of the game. Also, lets realize that all the players have to deal with same random "luck" factor.

If you play long enough you'll get "good luck" in some games and "bad luck" in others. Its what you make out of any given situation with your skills, that really matter at the end of the day.

P.S. I'm one of those guys who does not believe in luck... you know the kind :)
