P.S. Boosting yourself or a friend with stars is illegal and accounts (niggler too btw) have been banned or reset for it. Ryan just has no clue on how to effectively close the loopholes so let's just say you don't risk much in using them.

You and all loophole exploiters or rule benders can claim that that text is open for interpretation, but Ryan did explain when he created the system. I do agree however that he fucked up the childproofing, even though there are 2 simple solutions that would make it almost impossbile to abuse (or well, wouldn't be worth the time)

So I am sure you know that Ryan created this system to motivate people to introduce their friends to KDice, meaning attracting NEW PLAYERS. Boosting yourself or someone already playing KDice is not allowed. But who cares anyway.

where did he give an explanation of the friend boost system - to my recollection it just appeared, no blog post or anything.

i understand the intention of the system, but i'm pretty sure the only reason ryan wants to attract new players is so that he can increase his unique hits - if that's the real intention behind the mechanic then people who boost themselves or their friends are actually doing exactly what ryan wants.

about Ryan's thoughts behind the boosts? I actually don't know, well I did have a mail exchange where it's clear he installed this to attract new players but I can' find a forum post about it. I vaguely remember there being a thread in the mod forum too. Actually I don't care enough to google, it all just seems a bit logic no?
