Health Insurance Meeting

I had an LOL moment at work today. Our insurance sales person had their yearly meeting with the crew to tell us about our benefits, changes & any cost increases. Of course our insurance went up again to the tune of 8% and while we were talking about increases she went on to say:

"This year will be very important to your insurance costs. The lawsuit over Obamacare and it's legality along with the election in November will greatly effect your cost increases for the coming years. If everything stays the same you can expect 8-15% increases every single year for the forseeable future."

Just another reason for me to vote for anyone other than Barry.

Costs rising higher than inflation is not a public goods/externality problem. It is a goverment subsidized/aided health insurance problem. Buyers of health care are not bearing the full marginal cost of the care beyond the deductible. Better to have full marginal cost pricing, health care savings accounts, workers' comp, maintenance/cure which are all benefits per diagnosed condition.

If there is any institution traditionally involved with health care, it is not government--it is the priesthood.

Try again.

are you referring to within the country or a broader world tradition? because arguably the state and church were two institutions of the same government traditionally and today the state generally runs the healthcare system in modern western nations.

so it would seem the tradition is for the state to organize the healthcare of the nation, be it through the clergy or through a national healthcare system.

the more you know...

LOL UGB, I'm an atheist. But thanks for all the compliments.

Yes, I work VERY hard for the little piece of pie I have, and I will protect my own interests at all costs. There is plenty of success to be had in this country if you simply put forth the effort and make smart choices. Democrats like to coddle the portion of the country that would rather be supported by the government. I simply don't believe in that. Barry needs to go in November, and I don't give two shits as to which Republican replaces him.

i gather japan/germany and their incredibly efficient economies are just being held back by all of their progressive/socialist policies as well?

i mean can you guys just imagine if the rest of the world did it like us???? we might not be number 1 anymore!

edit: i mean number 30 because the only thing we're number one in anymore is a reputation for ignorance

The Japanese have an overwhelming reputation for being driven, disciplined, and hardworking. That doesn't exactly describe most Americans.

Morning Veta!

Hey Dumbass (Thrax),
Where was the alleged 'LOL' moment, ya fuckin ' retard?

Seriously though, Obama's illegal healthcare plan is no laughing matter.

And Veta is such a fuckin' dumbass, I don't even need to read this thread to know he's spewing dumb shit. If Obamacare is legit, why did Congress have to exempt themselves and their staff in order to get the fucking thing signed?

That doesn't even make sense

You probably shouldn't get your critiques of public policy from dipshits who spout whatever their parents see on the news
