A version like 16 dice. Where those of us who like to play the game out, and don't care primarily about rating can play.

at 2:35 PM, Tuesday February 14, 2012 EST I haven't played conquer club in AGES. It'd be interesting to get a bunch of kdice people in a game together.

at 10:58 AM, Wednesday February 15, 2012 EST I can see how coding that for a browser game that works in real time could be hard. Mostly what games like this need is a minor amount of limited knowledge that require people making decisions based on risk and reward and expected luck outcomes. A dynamic scoring system that rewards multiple play styles can substitute for this, previous versions of KDice allowed for both social and anti-social overly aggressive styles to coexist and create interesting dynamic game play. With the stagnation of the scoring system here the game play has simply become a single choice to rake points.
ELO style scoring, where you only gain in proportion to the competition you are facing could be good, this could be done with the current game play and would encourage players to push the table level since you couldn't win any points playing with 50k on a 500 table against a bunch of sub 10k players. Also for the love of all the is holy and just in the world flagging for positions is TERRIBADHORRIBLYDUMBANDAWFUL, it simply just creates a stagnant game, people need to be forced to defend a position they want otherwise the actual board and dice lost all significance. |
