at 2:46 PM, Friday April 27, 2012 EDT hey why wasnt there nearly the same amount of internet rebellion over CISPA? how come the mega-internet companies didn't make a public effort to stop it this time?
sorry im a bit ignorant of how CISPA is better than SOPA/PIPA, can someone explain why the govt continues to try to push this shit... and is apparently going to get away with it this time? |

at 3:02 PM, Friday April 27, 2012 EDT Tech companies tended to support CISPA since it made their jobs easier. Also CISPA, well worrisome was amended to remove most of the scariest parts. Even in its current form it has some potential to be abused but the intent and purpose of the law is much more about stopping "dangerous" hackers than preventing copyright infringement like SOPA was.

http://www.zdnet.com/blog/facebook/after-denouncing-sopa-and-pipa-how-can-facebook-support-cispa/11700 "Facebook is supporting CISPA because it takes the pressure of regulating users off the company. While SOPA required private companies to monitor, and held them responsible for, what their users were doing, CISPA is written so the government is responsible." |

Individuals need to protect individual rights. Companies will only protect their interests; this is how it works. |
