If they have >5% positive difference between 2nd finishes and 3rd finishes it shows that they know how to effectively navigate the end game so that they end up with the most points possible.
Unless we are talking about tournaments, 3rd place is the last place that you want to be on the higher tables, and players with considerable experience know that and will do whatever they can to avoid 3rd. Take a look at the past leaderboards: http://kdice.com/monthStats/44806825 Starting from the top: Fonias Me Zoid (or at least I think it was zoid) Das Jurgen Savif Adcurtin Vohaul Etc. All of these players I would consider above average when it comes to end-gaming. So I guess what I'm trying to say is, the key to being a better player is to never take 3rd unless you absolutely have to. |

at 8:20 PM, Wednesday December 14, 2011 EST Chase you point out a bunch of the cheaters in the game. I don't think their 2 > 3 placing has as much to do with skill as it does realizing that 1/2 pga is better than 1/2/3 because it's less obvious.

I don't think social players get enough credit around here IMO it's not about how you get to the finish line...it's about getting there and imo this list leaves out players that employ social strategy, players that may take six or seven second/third places just to get an unrivaled first eventually OH and then you have players like myself who will take 10 sixth place finishes, just to pge someone who's given you hell that's why stats never impressed me plus there are a fair amount of players that have ruined the credibility of stats imo granted it does take some skill to consistently finish 1st. But there's more to kdice then consistently finishing 1st, hell you can sit on 100s all day and consistently finish 1st. |
