repentance requires belief in a supreme god to whom we owe something. he isnt necessarily against repentance, he is against the notion of the biblical god.

Repentance is ridiculous when speaking on a scale of Hitler-like mass murdering. If there is a supreme being anywhere that would forgive Hitler simply because Hitler sucked the supreme beings virtual dick then I say fuck that guy and I don't want to go to his "heaven".

this is strictly postulation. im not a seminary-trained bible scholar or anything. but as far as hitler goes, maybe he would be less comparable to the thief on the cross (the example of last second repentance), and more comparable to pharaoh, who had a heart that was so hardened he basically self-destructed an empire because he couldnt stand to repent.

nor am i a ww2/hitler scholar, so i dont know if his megalomaniacal tendencies were authentic or just seen in hollywood.

Or could we exaggerate this a bit more and say, that using a word that has a bad history in a small part of the world is bannable while using the incarnation of 20th century genocide goes without punishment (aside: no punishment was requested, just a change)? It is totally irrelevant if Adolf Hitler did repent or not for this discussion (maybe not for his afterlife, depending on your religious believes, those are completely yours, I hope you are happy with them). He is the number one symbol for massmurder and racism in the 20th century (with Josef Stalin, Idi Amin and Pol Pot as runner ups, just to name a few in no specific order). It is what he is recognizes and remembered for that is to be discussed when using the image.
