at 2:06 PM, Thursday December 1, 2011 EST It's relatively high because TAZD isn't actually a measure of skill. It just measures deviation from a baseline skrum made up.
So if your percentages match that baseline exactly, your TAZD is basically nothing. As you vary from that, it goes up. The part that makes zero sense is that positive and negative deviation are treated the same. Decrease your first % and increase your sevenths and your TAZD goes ... UP. Chloe's alternative skill ranking fixes this and is a significantly superior scoring system. (Get fewer firsts, your score goes down...sort of makes sense.) TAZD works for a rough measure because it generally works out to put out people in the right area because the baseline is a reasonable guess, but it can be wildly inaccurate at times. So, it's a fun diversion, and you can feel good about being up high, but take it with a grain of salt. |
