It is very clear that if you were not personal friends with Smurf he would have been banned a long time ago. That is not good modding.

Agreed, you shouldn't let personal opinions of people cloud your judgment when ding out moderation. For instance - bone-roller may not have liked me but he never banned me for as little as cool g/jona were banned for and he certainly didn't hesitate banning his friends if he had to (whereas you and Sam seem to struggle in that department).

Judging persons you know and like/dislike is very hard. Either yo expect higher morals from them and tend to handle them harder than others, or you counteract that tendency by being too nice. Both is not good, both is very human.

Therefore I try to not judge persons I know. I ask another person to do the job on that person and of course have to accept the result. A good coach would never train his significant other - well, maybe befor it becomes the significant other, but not afterwards, or not alone. You need somebody outside the relation to make the clear, sometimes unfriendly statements.

My advice to all moderators, who's work I appreciate and to whom I am thankful for spending their time, would be, to ask one of the other mods to handle the case "Louis Cypher" if he/she knew me in real life or had the idea of maybe not being neutral, ask another mod to "watch that Louis-guy".
