dasfury: the key to playing with mars is "don't be beside him".

thx all, would like to clarify few things

- why did i make that list ?

keeley inspired me to do it, when she claimed i pga dottier, a player with all due respect is simply the exact opposite of my play style "she would flag early, sit for positions, not take risks, build more than moving", so i made this list to just clarify.

this list is pseudo-statistics, strangely, i was never RC-ed with any of these player, esp sav ,nex ,mustang, fackfuce. who i truced more than anybody, and deserved to get RC-ed with them in some months. so the list is simply "RC is flawed, here is the truth".

- why truce ?
i don't start the game thinking "oh here is nexon, i'll truce him this game" , nor do i fight his battles to help him get a better positions. that's pga, and what do i care, am not his nanny.

to truce, there are some conditions:
1) you both have stacks that can ruin each other in a long fight, if not then it's just a flag.

2) others are free lands or are killing each other or growing big, so it's better to fight for higher positions.

3) if you are back to back in middle, coz it's ABC not to fight in the middle.

-what's the meaning of "i tend to truce them" ?
it just means that we read eachother moves and understand what's the intention behind them, including when i position my big stack to fight them next round.

- does that mean i pga them ?
no, i would truce a total noob vs any of them if the lands say so, it's just a look at the past that mean nothing about the current game. only board reading counts. if i can take all their lands and get away with it, i would surely do.

@monte
i like you so much, you are so funny and dangerous is game, it's even the 1st time someone backstab me and i don't intend to PGE him "and yes, i pge'ed das for 1 game when he backstabbed me once".

i just don't trust you at all, after the truce u might grow too fast and i lose advantage and have no equal footing in the 8v8 1/2 fight "same with sam & lager btw" so why truce you when 90% i'll end up 2nd anyway. also, u might dump me any time after the initial friendly moves if you have a better deal ahead, and it's ok, to each his own.

nah, if its obv im taking advantage of my truce partner, i generally tell them, hey at end we are rolling off. although i might get more dom, w/e.

i forgot, some thing are totally lame, and i rarely do them now:

silent trucing: it's not fair, if you are going to force someone to be 3rd, make it from equal position so others can counter, we are not here to collect points.

line truces: "when u don't have a good base that can defend itself"

lower trucing: "lets 3/4" fuck that, just flag out, don't 2v1 for a lower position. unless it's a 2v2

monte wasn't it you who told me to always make sure you're stronger than your truce partner.

yeah, back when i was fixated on points.

basically, its why das and i can truce again. neither of us cares to manip the other guy any more.

I like superxchloe's view on this...

** pretty much says these are my tendencies but it depends on the game. there are people I tend to truce when I play because I know I can trust them to not backstab, and people I will never truce because they're dickheads. everyone has these lists. +1 to mars for simply stating it outright. **

There was a time I could genuinely say I was immune to all this. However, over time I noticed the point DDDY makes about it being "human nature" which allows it to creep in. Although who is on the board can influence how I play (largely in response to "their" style of play) I've found a way to counter that by making it policy I will hit ANYONE if I feel it's a smart move and in my best interests. As an inoculate is it 100% ?, I doubt it, but I'm sure it keeps most of the bugs out.

Truth... I will adjust my play according to who's on board based mostly upon their level of trustworthiness. I have NEVER once EVER gone in with the flagrant intent to PGA, prior to, or at the onset of the game. How I approach each game is based upon studying the layout a few moments at the start without considering in the least who's on board. That said, having developed a few virtual frendzies on the site, a couple times now I HAVE experienced someone give me BLATANT undue and unfair advantage on occasion allowing me to overtake someone I couldn't have otherwise. It wasn't PGA on my part hence you can't always say it's symmetrical. Nonetheless the accusations of PGA quickly hit the chat box and well, you can't say they weren't half right. It's a nice gesture and all but I've always found it extremely awkward.

if i truce monte, the only reason it happens is bc i plan on backstabbing him later.

this would make me an asshole, but the feeling is mutual, and we both do not care about point accumulating any more. The only real goal is to make every game enjoyable.
