The end of K-Dice... or the beginning of the end

The end of K-Dice... or the beginning of the end

Before you read on, for all of you imbeciles with short attention spans who don't like to read because the content strikes a nerve, and proceed to type the cutesy and 'I'm so cool' acronyn tl:dr ... just fuck off and go back to playing with yourselves...

For the rest of you, read on...

So once there was this gutsy player who dominated the game like most every other top performer. He had his own aggressive style, but like all the other top players, he favored his buds. Going back about 2-3 years ago, I personally was on the wrong end of his PGA fueled feeding-frenzy that lead to his victories. All the while, he was being as cocky as ever and making no apologies. (btw... I'm not hallucinating. I'm not speculating. I don't need fucking screen shots! I was there. I experienced it.) Sam was an asshole to those who were not his friends in his serious playing days.

Off main topic background commentary...

As I have said in past posts, favoring your fellow player is human nature. It is impossible to not favor someone after playing 50+ games with them. And if you're not favoring them, at least you're avoiding them(which is also favoring them btw) So I don't find it wrong to occasionally do a favor for a friend. ANY PLAYER WHO SAYS THAT THEY HAVE NEVER FAVORED ANOTHER PLAYER IS A COMPLETE LYING SACK OF SHIT. SERIOUSLY.

While I have made numerous posts in the past regarding the types of cheating and the lengths in which some assholes take to win, I feel that subtle favoritism is inherent in the game. This is why a 'team play' module would be awesome. But after years of people throwing this idea 'out there' and Ryan not acting upon the demand, I realize that Ryan only cares about $ & hits on his site. By having imperfections in a game, you gain several hits per month on your site-especially, if you have a forum. Lets get back on topic...

Basically, of the 4 types of cheating, favoritism or subtle PGA is impossible to stamp out.

Back on topic...

So this player who is 'holier than thow' is now a mod. He has been banning players left & right. He is actually taking out the players who are blatantly cheating. But to what end? For someone to be banned because they admit that they favor people openly? Seriously?

I seriously believe that Sam is going though a MOD-Life crisis. Sam, look deeply at the motivations that cause you to ban some and not others (your buds). While, I believe that strict action is required to ban the repeated cabal style teams, banning people for admitting to favoritism is a bit harsh.

In fact, I think Sam will need to ban about 90% of the old school players & 99% of the top 50 players for his crusade to be successful.

He will succeed in wiping out an entire community of players, just to be replaced in the near future by more of the same.

In summary, Sam I like the spirit of what you are doing, but your blade is cutting too many and cutting too deep. Look in the mirror. You Sam would not be here now if the same harsh measures were imposed on you during your medal runs.

Peace out.

dddy is talking about the current and recent actions of sam. recently these are the only examples of this action on sam's part. i do recall him banning kost for something similar in the distant past, but the point is 3 recent bans is not 'banning players left & right' as dddy claims. i tend to think i pay attention to the advisorLog and don't recall a lot of activity by sam. feel free to share with me the rest of sam's bans that would support dddy's claim.

Depends what you call recent, Sam has been making unfounded bans like this since he became a mod, not since he made his "intentions" thread. He's a hypocrite and explaining how he's a hypocrite to you, das, would be a waste of time. Regardless, it stands that sam's brash bannings are founded in a hypocritical bias. I'd love to see Sam ban Monte for playing the way he does and in fact being the progininator of the current top table play style. A style I might add which has only been reinforced by the podium medals of every month, of which Sam himself and Das are a part of.

It's too funny (but predictable) that Das would subtly come to Sam's defense by attempting to quantify the saying 'left & right'.

Now then, if anyone were to logically quantify the saying... 'left & right', one could conclude that it means 'at least 2'. I don't know about you, but I have a left hand and a right hand. 1+1=2. So it would be logical to conclude that the phrase implies 'at least twice.'

And if I'm not mistaken, Das counted 3 infractions of what my thread was pointing to. And the last time I checked, 3 > 2.

In short, any mod who bans a player at any time in response to such player saying 'I favored another player' is simply out of control. And to add insult to injury, this banning is being orchestrated by a mod with a checkered past...

Makes me laugh (and then puke a little in my mouth)

too lazy to check the rules page... but hasn't there been a rule there for the past year or so that says no game-to-game favors? take it up with Ryan if you are against this rule. i agree it's illogical to think that the game is meant to be social, and yet expect the players to not slip into favoring the social ties you want them to build, ESPECIALLY when there are prizes being doled out for most points constantly.

agree with whoever (das?) said that sam isn't banning ppl left and right, he's only done it a couple times so far. so if you want to go on a crusade against this shit, take it up with the person who writes the rules, not the person he employs (lol) to enforce them.

If you want to be friends, fine. But this is a war game. If you can't allow yourself to fight WITHOUT favoritism, you are weak. probably never played a decent game yet.
