It's superfluous money that donates to corrupt politicians in order to get them elected - who then use our collective money unwisely.

So instead of keeping the money in the hands of rich citizens (who may or may not use it wisely), you'd rather it go directly to the bumbling US government who will most likely misuse it anyways.

The most glaring difference between you and I isn't our political views, it's our confidence in government. I trust citizens more than my government. You are the opposite.

No the difference is I realize the government is a function of a certain few powerful individuals. If it was a government for the people by the people and of the people I would have full confidence in the government. If you think there's a problem with your local pizza place, it's probably because the owner hired some shitty employees. Maybe the owner doesnt have enough oversight over his employees to keep them honest. Maybe he let the manager do the hiring and he just hired friends and family that aren't necessarily good at making pizza. I think you see where I'm going with this analogy, we are the owners of the government. If it's fucking up it's because the wrong people are getting elected (and that's probably because whoever has the most campaign money wins - most likely coming from wealthy individuals or institutions with agendas) and because we (the owner) aren't able to keep politics transparent and clean (poor oversight).

Sorry but I trust collectivism way more than I trust the average greedy mother fucker who doesn't have scruples.

Being that Obama gets the most campaign money I completely agree with your analogy.

But until the system is changed I'll continue to trust in "the people" and not the poorly hired servents in Congress.

I say the average rich person is probably guilty of some avarice because the fact is, you don't make it to the top 1% without stepping on a few people on the way up. And once you're up there all you care about is staying there. Trust me, I have friends who are in the top .5% of income by household. Their parents are some arrogant unscrupulous fucks and by and large most of their money isnt even in circulation.

That's what's really fucking us (the economy), the poor have no money to spend and now the middle class doesn't either all while the rich just sit on their mountains of wealth. Well fuck that. Nobody who wants to spend money has money and everyone with money won't spend it - that's what's really fucking the economy.

I am part of the other 99% and I'm not okay with that shit..

Well you know what Ralph Nader said regarding the difference between republicans and democrats, rob? One's knees just fall to the ground a little slower whenever s corporation comes knocking. It's fucked when politicians hold the interests of corporations higher than those of their constituencies.

Oh and my point is we could trust the government again if we took the power away from those few individuals that are racketeering our political elections. Until then your "people" are the same people that are paying to have these "bumbling" officials elected in the first place. I don't think those people deserve that poor and I think it ruins the foundations of our republican form of government... As James Madison predicted it would.
