The problem with all these early straw polls, is that they don't represent a true cross section of the electorate. Ron Paul has a very solid base, that come out to vote in every chance possible. Thats what this early voting pretty much is, it is for hardcore political junkies that won't to try and push the election one way and hope that early tv coverage will enamour more of America toward their politician of choice. When we actually get to primaries, then you can start posting polling and it may mean something, but until then all of this shit is worthless.

I definitely agree with most of what you say Kehoe; however I wouldn't say it is worthless. A strong base of loyal supporters is a very important part of a successful campaign. So yes I would say it is definitely too early for polls to matter in determining the final outcome; but these straw polls do help determine who has a well run campaign and who is organizing well.

Many of the hardcore junkies that vote in the straw polls end up being the same people who volunteer for the campaign later. This help is estential to running a fluid campaign one capable of growing etc. Anyway; not sure if I'm making sense; crazy tired...

I think it was implied.

Ron Paul has absolutely no shot in the long run. Sad, but true.

Also he's crazy.

I don't think Ron Paul is crazy. The man thinks for himself and doesn't just regurgitate the same bullshit lines that the rank and file Republicans and Tea Partiers are screaming. He has his ideology, and I don't agree with him on all of his policies, but I will respect him for not being scared to put what he thinks out there and be different.

I'm not so sure that Ron Paul has no chance of winning. I do believe that the primary will be the hard election for Ron Paul though. If Ron can somehow get the primary (which isn't impossible; but is improbable) then he would have an excellent chance at beating Obama in the general election. Many liberals and most of the republicans would vote for Paul in the general election over Obama.

Ron Paul would crystallize the center for Obama, and no the Liberals would not be voting for a man that wants to dismantle all entitlement programs.

That said I think the split of the vote would be interesting, but Obama would crush Ron Paul in the general election. Ron Paul has no hope of capturing the Jews and you obviously need the Jews to win elections just look at your own district.
