NFL Week 1 Thoughts

Peyton Manning adds 6-8 wins to the Colts.....minimum

Eli Manning is horrible and should be embarrassed for comparing himself to his brother, and Brady, and Rodgers, and Brees, etc...

The Ravens were my pick for the AFC crown going into week 1 and they didn't diappoint by spanking the Steelers. 7 turnovers on a sloppy day from Big Ben & Co.

The Packers and Saints were entertaining on Thursday night and both look like offensive juggernauts. We could see them again in the NFC Championship game.

The Cowboys blew the biggest 4th quarter lead in team history and Sanchez looked pretty damn good last night. The Cowboys could be good, but like the Giants, mistakes and turnovers could be their demise.

Tampa Bay came into the season on a high and no longer the underdog! Then they lost to the much improved Detroit Lions. Matthew Stafford was solid and will be all season.

My Redskins got a W against their nemisis the New York Giants. Rex Grossman was solid and interception free. The Skins stayed dedicated to the run despite little success moving it on the ground. The defense was stout, recorded 4 sacks, scored a touchdown, and shoutout Eli and the G-men in the second half.

The Eagles started slow, but a Steven Jackson injury made it a little easier and the offense looked great by the end of the game. The jury is still out on whether these new look Eagles will jell by the end of the season, but they looked good in Week 1.

Tonight my other fave in the AFC will get an easy W......the New England Patriots.

AFC Championship New England vs Baltimore
NFC Championship Green Bay vs Philadelphia

Super Bowl Baltimore vs Green Bay

Champion Green Bay

HAHAHAAHAHAHHAHAHA!

It was really just a loud "YES!!!" and a fist pump, the 4th quarter was fucking stressballs with everything that was going against the Broncos.

Was hilarious with them talking about the new OT rules for like 10 minutes, then boom Demarius Thomas straight arm to Ike Taylors mouff' and BOOM WIN!

Serious problem though is that Tebow is fucking ridiculously inconsistent and our receivers suck donkey balls, so next week is going to be really ugly I think.

Yeah, Green Bay laid an egg. That game was a lot more about what Green Bay wasn't doing rather than what New York was doing.

Baltimore/San Fran for the Superbowl.

My grandmother could have rushed against the broncos on Sunday.

Any guesses on how long until the Pats get caught cheating again? ;)

Before you read this, know one thing, I am a NFL football fan and I was not rooting for either the Giants not the Pack. I would like to see San Francisco take it since an ex-Bears QB is coaching for the 2nd time.

My take on the Green Bay /Giants game was quite simple. Have any of you seen the movie Any Given Sunday? If not, the point of the title of the movie is simple... 'If a team wants to win more than their opponent, they probably will, despite inherent talents and skills.' (this is where everyone will want to boast about talent differences, bad luck and the like) Lets leave those points at the door.

Green Bay got their asses handed to 'em on a silver platter because the Giants worked hard for the turnovers. The Giants worked hard to make plays. The Giants even overcame a really bad officiating call on a 'would be' turnover that went in GB's favor.

Bottom line, the Giants were the better team on Sunday because they wanted it more than Green Bay. PERIOD.

Peace Out

The Giants played better than Green Bay, yes. But that wasn't because the Giants were lights out, it was due to Green Bay's inability to create offense. This didn't happen because of pressure on the QB. The NY defense had 0 hurries, 0 knock downs, and 0 sacks mid-way through the 2nd quarter. It wasn't because of tight coverage. Rodgers missed Jennings for a wide open touchdown with no pressure on him. Receivers were dropping balls with no defenders around them. And the fumbles... Green Bay looked like they had Crisco on their hands. The Giants weren't even ripping the balls out, they just fell out.

And let's not mention the Hail Mary at the end of the 1st half.

The Giants played average. Green Bay played terrible. Both defenses sucked. Neither team had a running game.

I'll put it to you like this. If New York plays against San Fran the same way they played against Green Bay, New York will lose by 2 touchdowns.

I sincerely believe that Green Bay is so good that even when they have a bad day, their competition looks "average". The Any Given Sunday principle was present in that game. And quite simply, the Giants wanted it more than GB.

Oh, and I hope that San Fran does beat the Giants! Go San Fran!
