Spent half a day playing around in mocks and learned a few things at how runs go. Of 7 drafts, in 12 man snakes like ours, here's my best team(granted its standard no ppr, etc)
QB: Vick RB: D Williams RB: R. Matthews WR:A Johnson WR: R Wayne F: AJ Green TE: V Davis D: Patriots K: M. Bryant QB: Matty Ice(big backup to vick getting injured weakened flex) RB: T. Jones RB: B. Tate RB: M. Hardesty WR: J. Jones WR: D. Moore TE: J Cook That there is pretty sexy, even if the backs are "potential" guys, receivers, qbs, and te are money |

at 3:46 PM, Friday August 26, 2011 EDT just a heads up about the way i'm leaning towards doing keepers in this auction league. im copy/pasting this from coworker jims league that i was in last year:
******************************************** The money you will receive for next year's draft will start with the $200 that you received this season. From that, the value of your keepers from THIS SEASON, as determined by ESPN, (see: http://games-ak.espn.go.com/s/ffldraftkit/10/cs/NFLDK2K10_cheatdollar.pdf?addata=2010=ffdft_cht_sht_dollarcentral_xxx) will be subtracted. This means that in 2011, you will be paying 2010 prices to keep your players. In 2012, you'll pay 2011 prices, etc. By only having to pay market value rather than the price at which you actually bought the player, I hope this encourages more bidding wars in following seasons, as I think these are the biggest reason auctions are more fun than snake drafts. This should also reward you for picking breakout players. There is no limit to the number of years for which you'll be allowed to keep the same player. Also, since the ESPN value sheet is limited to 256 players, odds are that it doesn't include everybody who will carry fantasy value into next season. However, since the sheet contains names that are deemed to be worth $0 at all positions, it will be assumed that the list is comprehensive. In other words, if you pick up one of these guys part of the way through the season who doesn't appear on this sheet and he does so well that you would like to keep him for next year, he will be assumed to have been worth $0 in the previous season, and therefore will cost nothing to keep. Right now, my three keepers would be: Jamaal Charles (valued at $21 on the linked draft sheet above) Greg Jennings ($20) Peyton Hillis ($0) That would give me those 3 players plus $159 to spend on next year's team. This would also mean I'm relinquishing all rights to Ray Rice, Frank Gore, and the rest of my team. ******************************************* only 2 minor changes i can see as of now: 1) we will only have 2 keepers, not 3 2) instead of an undrafted player being $0, he will be $1, since every player is worth $1 minimum in an auction draft. if you have any input on this, we need to make final decisions on the keeper system within 5 days. draft is on the 31st! |

at 8:25 PM, Friday August 26, 2011 EDT sounds OK, although when i do baseball keeper league (8 players), we just add $5 to what we paid for them in the previous draft. still, this sounds fine
