I don't talk to many conservatives in real life...

So here's another thread so I can get some of that point of view.

What say you?

Try and be nice.

Meaning the republicans were indeed voting for tax cuts on the rich, and not tax cuts for the whole country.

When did I ever say that was my solution? You keep turning the discussion into why I think taxing the rich and keeping spending high will work - but Ive never said that, nor supported that.

Sure, I think tax cuts should probably return to the levels reagan and clinton used, but I dont think taxing the top bracket is the solve-all to our problems. Massive cuts in our spendings are need (though a restructuring of medicare/SS should not include cutting those benefits), corporate tax loopholes should be fixed as well.

While we might disagree fully on where the spending cuts should come from mainly, Ive always supported cuts in general.

If you have any intention of ever trying to find a solution that works for everyone, why bring up a BS graph by a BS media outlet to bring up some BS talking points? I got tired of hearing from the guy who says the other guy is worse. I want to hear from the guy who shows that he is better.

Some writers have so confounded society with government, as to leave little or no distinction between them; whereas they are not only different, but have different origins. Society is produced by our wants, and government by our wickedness; the former promotes our happiness POSITIVELY by uniting our affections, the latter NEGATIVELY by restraining our vices. The one encourages intercourse, the other creates distinctions. The first a patron, the last a punisher.

Weighs heavily on me like unwilling sleep,

Of godlike hardship tells me I must die
