I've been called a faggot. I've been called a honky. I've been called a nerd/geek. I've been told to die, get cancer, to fuck my mother, asshole, dickhead, fucker, bitch, etc. And I probably haven't banned a single person for saying any of those things TO ME.

I've been called these things to my face in real life, I've had it done on the internet.

Someone that would think to call me any of those things isn't worth my time, so I ignore it and move on. You aren't special because you are a minority. You're belittling isn't more important than the next person's. If you want mods here to ban people everytime a racist/sexist/sexual orientation/religious slur/etc. is uttered, then this community will be a really small place.
