Game to game favours

I'll preface this by saying that considering the amount of time I've sunk into my k-addiction I'm not very good at diplomacy which is rightly 9/10ths of the strategy on high tables. I'd in all likelyhood be a mediocre player even if the rules were all rigidly enforced.
I also accept that regular players on 2ks and 5ks will inevitably truce each other more than noobs, and this will be a good strategy for them in any given game for obvious reasons. Having said that, somewhere between a third and half of the times I stray onto 2ks to donate some of my points I see blatant moves that will ONLY benefit a player in future games, i.e. game to game favours. Someone who's going to finish last whatever happens releases their mate's 8 stack for example. This is pretty depressing as it slants the game even further away from the noob who already doesn't have the reputation or chat skills of the regulars. So I guess I'm asking whether it's worth reporting it when this happens or if it's just a fact of life on kdice Cheers |

at 1:22 PM, Sunday July 17, 2011 EDT it was a desperate attemt to help me for a better place in return, i hardly "otf" or play much games with the other guy you're suggesting, i wasn't noted here, but i know what game you're refering to
to be fair 1. you started out as weak, player Purp lost a lucky 6v3 and got pissed, 2. you kinda raped him after that :P 3. you were too cought up noticing i already truced played Green silently 4. you grew big i had huge locked stacks and player Purp said: i'm gonna make smurf win and released my big stacks 5. i tried to shield him from dying but failed, in my attemt i almost lost 1st, i thought it still was sealed since i had a 1/2 truce silently with player green 6. player purp died we were 3 players left, you got "amazed" and cried al little and we had a fair 1/3 fight and lost it. 7. you wrote this post |

at 1:30 PM, Sunday July 17, 2011 EDT REAL otf is legal, except most of the noobs that think they are skilled veterans (i.e. roughly 1/2 of the top 25 players) don't know what a real otf is.
what you are talking about is blatant PGA, although for some reason the community, including the mods, seems to accept it as the norm. this is not ok, so yes, DO report instances such as the one you just described. |

at 1:51 PM, Sunday July 17, 2011 EDT Yeah that's the game I was referring to smurf. I don't agree with your account of what happened, but I didn't mention names because I don't want to get sidetracked into debating the specifics of one game. Although it was that game that sparked my post, I've seen similar moves from other players countless times.
KDP, I appreciate it's possible for new players to un-noobify themselves and have success on the higher tables. The problem with game to game favours is it makes the barrier that much higher than it needs to be, and unlike you, the majority of noobs will mind when they see that no matter how good their strategy it's not a remotely level playing field. A similar-ish site I used to play on had duller game-play than kdice but a thriving community, and I think meritocracy was a big part of that. |

at 2:37 PM, Sunday July 17, 2011 EDT can you honestly say i did something wrong that game,
what happened hapends on 0,100,500 ALL THE TIME regardless of who's who. if you piss someone off enough, that player doesn't want to see you win, in this case you made it look like it was game to game favors wich is not correct, but you do raise a interesting point, but this game wasn't one of them |

at 7:10 PM, Sunday July 17, 2011 EDT ill post a mini-walloftext on this later. there are reasons to unlock a neighbors big stacks that dont involve game-to-game, but just ingame favors. and there are also reasons to suspect smurf of game-to-game imo. i'll expound later...
