Not to be confused with 2009 Obama, who said raising taxes in a recessions is "the last thing you want to do." Well guess, he is down to his 'last' options now that everything else he has done didn't work. http://www.weeklystandard.com/blogs/obama-vs-obama_576524.html |

at 12:37 PM, Monday July 11, 2011 EDT It really annoys me that the Republicans refuse to swallow tax increases on those making over $250,000 and some loophole reforms in the tax code for entitlement "reform". It seems so asinine to me. Also can we slash the fuck out of the DoD yet? Jesus fuck the military industrial complex.

at 12:48 PM, Monday July 11, 2011 EDT Why would you increase taxes on small businesses if you want to create jobs. It is completely counter-intuitive.
In fact all economists say it is a stupid idea; even Keynesian ones. |

at 1:18 PM, Monday July 11, 2011 EDT Sam, raising taxes on $250k and above not only doesn't even dent the deficit; but it also strips money from small businesses; whether directly or by hitting their investors.
Call it a straw-man all you want; but it is simply a fact. My business is funded by individuals making more then $250k; taking money from them is going to effect their ability to fund businesses. This isn't rocket science. Also; I'm sick and tired of this class warfare bullshit. Taxing the rich isn't going to solve your problems; even if you take 100% of all income over $250k you still have a deficit. Maybe you should take your misplaced anger and do something productive with it. |

By the end of his first term, President Obama will have added as much debt as all the prior 43 presidents combined. TRUE President Obama "has fired more cruise missiles than all other Peace Prize winners combined." TRUE Barack Obama: "What I have done -- and this is unprecedented ... is I've said to each agency ... 'look at regulations that are already on the books and if they don't make sense, let's get rid of them.'" LIAR LIAR PANTS ON FIRE AWARD (tm) "The average unemployed American has been out of work for almost 40 weeks." TRUE On taxes, President Barack Obama wants to raise "the top rate to 44.8 percent." at 1:54 PM, Monday July 11, 2011 EDT Btw; the whole concept of increasing revenue with increased taxes is flawed. The USA has never been able to tax more then 20% of the GDP; it is just impossible. Even when taxes were 70% and higher; the country did not see revenues as high as we see them today.
Historically 39% as the highest bracket is the tax rate that gets closest to the 20% mark. This has all been proven over and over and over; but it is easy to whip up a fury amongst the uninformed by using class warfare rhetoric. |
