He wasn't the best SS of all time, not close to Honus, ARod, Ozzie, Cal Jr of course. From a value standpoint though he is one of the all time great players though. |

He's an above average hitter, an average to below average defensive player, and he was surrounded by equal to or better talent than himself throughout his career. Bottom line, if he was drafted by any of the 5 teams that passed on him in the original draft, he's probably not first ballot hall-of-fame, and he definitely makes about $125,000,000 less for his career. |
