at 3:43 PM, Tuesday July 5, 2011 EDT One thing he is great at is playing politics, so I don't doubt him winning. It certainly won't be due to his 4 year track record. It will be due to the spin he puts on his 4 year track record.

at 3:44 PM, Tuesday July 5, 2011 EDT What will be interesting is if a solid independent runs, because I think an independent will hurt a Democrat more than a Republican next election, which is unusual.

at 3:50 PM, Tuesday July 5, 2011 EDT Any platform that an independent would run on would be the same platform Obama used in 2008 and will use in 2012, so no real wild card would enter the race as the platform they want represented would be on the ticket already with a (D) next to his name.
If the Republicans want to win a national election they need to shove the socially conservative and insane base in a fucking trunk and put it in the basement like the fucking gimp from Pulp Fiction. Also they need to advocate honest financial reform, not just the ending of social programs with no real solutions for the middle class. |

at 3:53 PM, Tuesday July 5, 2011 EDT I live smack dab in the middle of liberal NYC and I say Obama is 35-40% a winner.
Voters here are lukewarm at best here; and remember the country leans to the right a bit; so democrats generally require a big turnout to win. I really really doubt the turn out at the moment; but who knows; it can change all the way up till the last hours before election. |

at 3:56 PM, Tuesday July 5, 2011 EDT i wish a republican would run on a platform that supports increasing taxes (with cutting back govt spending, ofc). i would vote for that.
just seems that now both parties have realized how many easy votes they get by saying they wont increase taxes. well look you shitholes, now were in massive debt because if you ever change the tax rates, its downward so you can get more votes... WHILE STILL SPENDING THE SAME OR MORE MONEY. stupid america doesnt realize that we pay for it in the end. so instead of paying an extra $1 in tax, we end up paying like $2 in deficit + lost interest. fucking americans. |

Pretty sure it's old people and weak minded people that generally lean right and those are by in large the people that don't miss a chance to vote. Coincidentally both groups are easily manipulated. |
