RIP to the former Jackass star. He was just about to get his career moving forward.....what a shame. I just saw him on Minute to Win it the other night with Steve-O.

Insatiable:

People do fuck up, and if he was driving under influence that is of course a major fuck up, and in most cases unforgiveable mistake for the family and friends of the victim. If you have had friends or relatives killed by a drunk driver, your view on it will obviously be strong, and thats perfectly understandable.

But out of curiousity, what is your take on parents smoking in their homes while raising children? Would you think of them as murderers in the same way if their children develop cancer at some stage in life?

I'm really not trying to provoke, and if you have experienced someone close to you being a victim of a drunk driver then its obviously a natural reaction to be provoked everytime you hear a similar story.

Insatiable and Monte seem to think that the passenger is somehow less responsible than Dunn was because he did not drive. I disagree with this, unless the passenger was forced into the car against his will; if this isn't the case, he is just as responsible for getting in the car and not objecting to Dunn driving.

Either way, I think the loss of two lives overshadows whatever stupidity that was involved in their decision-making that night.

it's not about me being right or wrong.
and I lost a friend to drunk driving too, so I can possibly relate and I hope that you found comfort
i feel sorry for all the people involved in the situation
i apologize to you guys if you felt like i was being disrespectful
I just do not think it behooves anyone to talk crap about this guy...perhaps it would be more appropriate for a little self-reflection.
it really is an unfortunate all around and yes it could've been prevented.

I am not trying to argue about this. I'm just saying my heart goes out to everyone affected by this matter

Let me restate again that IF he was drunk, then I feel no regret at his passing. I am simply grateful that no innocent man, woman, or child was also killed by his willful disregard for the law, common sense and common decency. I am also not terribly saddened by the death of his passenger, who I would have to consider a willful accomplice. Is this a harsh perspective? Certainly. Is it justified? I believe so. In 2009 more than 10,000 people were killed by drunk drivers. My close friend was one of them. It is not simply a "mistake" that someone makes. In this case, if he was drunk, he was a repeat offender. He had a DUI conviction in 2005. He was not a minor. He is presumed to know better.

If he had survived and the passenger died, he would likely be prosecuted for vehicular homocide. Driving drunk is not excusable. Ever.

I do feel sad, very sad, for his family and other loved ones. But I would feel even worse if he had killed someone other than the passenger in his car. And so would his family.

In my opinion drunk drivers are like rabid dogs. Eventually they are going to hurt or kill someone else. And so, while I feel badly when a rabid dog is killed, it is a necessary evil. I don't propose that drunk drivers should be summarily executed. But I don't grieve when one of them kills himself without killing someone else. It is one less rabid dog that my wife, kids, relatives and friends have to worry about when driving, riding, or walking down the street.

Ok, I understand where you are coming from Insatiable, and I agree, there isn't any excuse for driving under influence. And of course its better when the only person passing away is themselves. I'm truly sorry to hear that someone close to you were a victim of a drunken driver.

@Travis ur a fucking fool so whatever you say has no meaning to me. Ur just playing devils advocate here because it's all you can ever do in your life.

@GB shut up and get back on ur meds ur opinions are rediculus.

@Curtis your comment is the most insensitive of the whole lot in here.

The entire situation is a tragedy but a 100% avoidable one if drunk driving was involved. Considering that the car was on fire when the cops arrived there could be no blood left to take a sample of accurately. I don't know how else you can get a BAC since I'm not a doctor.
