"Rickrolling" - do you think it is something people should know what it is? (Do you know what it is?)

I was having an online conversation with a friend who told me about the wedding of another friend of his.

At one point he said:
"Oh yes - and the groom Rick-rolled everyone at the end of the service".

I was like: "???"

He was surprised that I didn't know what it was and gave me the link to the "Rickrolling" wiki page.

I read it and was like: "wtf"???

It still didn't make much sense to me...

Now I wonder if it's a bit of general internet knowledge everybody should be aware of or if it's more like something cultural (i.e.: Rickrolling as a part of the Angloamerican Internet world)...

Could someone please give me some input on "Rickrolling"?

Well, first I thought of a proper reply here, but I actually don't enjoy talking to you, chloe...

On the other hand, watch HOW WRONG you were with your "concept of"-talk:

How can I be wrong about the manner in which I speak? I wasn't trying to state a universal.

As I said: I don't have the desire to talk to you anymore, otherwise I would probably call you names or give you labels...

Just look at the charts for a while and try to accept that I'm not completely wrong with what I said.

ok good. posting a chart about the use of the 'concept of' in reply to chloe trying to help you understand a meme seemed a little nutso

I was a bit irritated by a few things she posted.

Looking at the charts one could also form the conclusion that people in academia tend to talk in similar manners, and one of their common phrases is "concept of." Check out the breakdown of the Academic category into subcategories:

Fully 89% of references DO NOT belong to Sci/Tech. If you also include "medicine" in the realm of science, which is reasonable, more than 85% of the listings are nonscientific. More than half come from History, Geography, and the Humanities.

But please, feel free to call me names and give me labels. I don't care. All I did prior to your irritation was state facts.

"concept of" is widely used in engineering as well.

Conceptual / Instances / etc.

Is it really that hard to know what a concept is?

Anyway; take a look at some live rickrolling of Scientology!

Yeah, but imo "engineering" falls under the realm of science.
