I didn't vote for him!
http://www.thedailyshow.com/watch/tue-may-31-2011/distinguished-member-of-congress Shouldn't congressmen be smart enough to know you can't pick up young boys via twitter; without picking up national attention. Even if he was hacked; still hilarious and deserved. In other news; DOW -200; GOLD UP; Jobs Down; QE3 Coming soon; 'WE ARE ON THE VERGE OF A GREAT, GREAT DEPRESSION' - Yastraw Thanks Keynesians! |

Libertarians are both social and fiscal liberals. Progressives are social egalitarians and fiscal collectivists (e.g. 1 man 1 vote; money is not free speech; social security) |

at 11:47 AM, Wednesday September 14, 2011 EDT Update: Democrats lost the election in my district. Weiner's old seat is now Republican. The democrats have held my district since 1923; so this is pretty huge upset.

at 12:29 PM, Wednesday September 14, 2011 EDT It's just more proof that Obama is kryptonite for his own party at this point. The real question isn't whether or not America can survice another 4 years of Obama, it's whether the Democrat party can afford another 4 years of him.

at 6:02 PM, Wednesday September 14, 2011 EDT I don't think that's a fair assessment in this case rob. I would draw a distinction between this and that Scott Brown race for Ted Kennedy's seat. The dem in this race didn't even live in their district and made no mention of planning to move. I'm fairly confident if Weiner was allowed to run again he would've won, but the dem was pretty weak and the republican actually lived in the district. That in itself is a huge factor for voters and probably why the dem lost.

at 6:32 PM, Wednesday September 14, 2011 EDT As someone who lives in the district I can tell you first hand. The target demographic jewish families, elderly, and young urban professionals are fed up with Obama and the democrats. Particularly the Jewish community here; which are very upset about Obama's policies regarding Israel.

at 6:50 PM, Wednesday September 14, 2011 EDT Personally, Thaxle, I agree. This is a "canary in the mine" moment. This is going to make Obama even more of a lame duck then he already is. Congress will be even more unlikely to support his proposals and are already distancing themselves from him in local races.
Meanwhile; the GOP race is still wide open and who knows what happens. I sure don't. |
