Obama clearly lied to Democrat voters about his intentions of repealing the Patriot Act.

Meet the new boss; same as the old boss.

@BO, how can you support someone with an obvious lack of integrity? A few days back you praised the Libertarians for standing against the Patriot Act's renewal. Obama could have killed the Patriot Act with his veto; what's the deal?

Maybe it's time you came over to the good side.

ya Rachel Maddow usually makes great points. She was a Rhodes scholar too like Clinton so she's pretty impressive.

I'd suggest you check out more of her clips dead.

Will do.

Btw; are you going to comment on your "dawg" Obama. What's the deal "bro"; why is he "tripin"?

Figured I use the lingo you started using lately, BO. Hope it helps bridge the communication gap. :p

I was right here in 2003; where were you?

Libertarians were the ones who voted against the original passing of the Patriot Act in 2003.

Obama voted for the renewal of the Patriot Act in 2006. Campaigned against it in 2008. And now voted for it's renewal in 2011.

Why do you keep changing the focus of this back to me. When it is clear that I have always been against the Patriot Act (go read libertarians voting record).

Why won't you ever admit you are wrong.

Here is the voting roll from 2001 and 2006 patriot act votes in case you need proof.

Obama voted FOR it in 2006 (and now 2011); Ron Paul voted AGAINST it in 2001 and 2006 (and now 2011)

I am pretty annoyed with the continued lack of will by either party to really start rolling back some of the PATRIOT Act. The biggest problem of course is that the CIA/FBI/NSA love the tools that the Act has given them.

I don't know if Obama wants the kill the PATRIOT Act or not in his heart, he changed his stance on Homeland Security stuff pretty fast after taking office so I imagine he was made privy to information that makes these tools seem useful by the parties with a vested interest in keeping this stuff in place.

I think looking at something like Gitmo, no matter what the validity of the cause of sending some of the people there they probably cannot be sent back to the US or set free, if they weren't a threat before I imagine they would be a threat now. I knew a former prison guard that worked at Gitmo and he gave up a pretty sizable offer for re-enlistment because he knew he would be sent back to Gitmo and just couldn't do it any more.

Also how much of the renewal made parts of the Act permanent, most of the Act still has sunset clauses and will be required to be renewed or hopefully not in the future right?
