A lot of things wrong with it/misconceptions. For one the historical average of the income tax is sort of a useless statistic because early on we got most of our revenue from excise taxes, not income tax. Income tax is much more fair since I'd rather have that than pay $50 for a case of keystone.

one of my friends make more than 200 000 000 usd/year, and he pays about 0.5% taxes in the current systems, through deliberatly set up loopholes.
