at 1:15 PM, Saturday April 9, 2011 EDT I had some contact for a while but lately.... radio silence :(
In my opinion, this won't work for much longer: too many people are dropping out. I have seen the estimated worth of this site plummet over the last year, I don't think he wants that. So I'll be writing him an open letter in the mod forum soon, hoping other mods (also from xsketch where the dropping numbers of players is even worse and from gpokr) will back me up and hope we can get through. There is no point in trying to mod this game and invest precious (work and family) time if there is no support from the top anymore. |

at 3:51 PM, Saturday April 9, 2011 EDT he does respond...from time to time. And I am sure he responds to people with payment problems or other things he thinks need to be dealt with. Mails about game complaints or bugs, I am pretty sure he ignores most. His mailbox is probably flooded with mails.
I respect the fact that he has a loving family he wants to spend time with and there probably are other more important projects he is involved with But even with the biggest respect for that situation, KDice is still in the same development stage as when I left around November 2008. The only problem is, there is only one quarter of the number of players left, compared to back then. Xsketch rarely has over 15 players playing at the same time, I remember trying it out in the first months and tens of tables were playing. All that is left is a hardcore group of maybe not even 50 regular players. Sure it's a fun group, I had some fun there. But I am affraid Kdice will become the same desolate place at one point if we don't at least try one last time to get things moving forward. Part of the problem is , this game is too big for one person but too small (now) to support extra staff. On the other hand, there are mods here who are willing to do part of his job for free. |
