changes need to be made at kdice

I need to make this post now. I've only started playing kdice since December 2010 and for the past two months, I've been contemplating quiting this site. This site is like a mixed bag of emotions for me: the game of kdice is so addictive and fun and challenging, but the people on this site are massive douchebags. Not all of you are bad players(I can attest to some players here who are really nice, fair, honest players), but oh man, a lot of you are. I don't even know where to start because there are literally too many player to remember who have either broken flags, created their own rules, straight up lied to everyone about a particular happening, or have just been pretty much annoying has hell using played out internet memes like their life depended on it. And it doesn't happen just once in a while, it's every day I log onto this site. It's honestly ridiculous.
The whole atmosphere of this site is just sour to its core. A huge portion of this site doesn't play fairly (something I feel should be the utmost important factor to this game and website) and it ruins it for players like me who try to hold that up. I don't know how this can be changed unless everyone takes a look at how they play and ask themselves if its a fair move or a revengeful, dickish move. Anyway, it's not like I've accomplished much on this site. In Feb 2011, I got 50th which was nice and I won a few tourneys, but overall, the people on this site ruin any fun I have here. I always end up closing the tab upset and frustrated, and I'm honest when I saw I am a calm person, but this site gets me built up for those reasons I've mentioned. I know this is just a game, so that's why I'd rather just stop playing it instead of having to deal with the bullshit. So yeah, the point of this other than to ramble is that I'm leaving this site cold turkey. I'm going to pretty much blacklist it and see how I last. I might come back, but changes need to be made at kdice if it wants to get back into a fair, balanced game. I don't know if anyone cares I'm leaving, but that's one fair player lost and tons of asshole players winning. On a final note, it's funny how my last review I checked tonight was one by PaperKutZ that says "Makes the game fun for a change! Good guy." It's too bad there aren't more players like that who are nice like that on kidce. |

Somebody posted it in the forums like 2 years ago |

It is a serious problem when there are maybe only 3 mods that actually are on this site on a daily basis. Yes, kdice could use a lot of improvement, but you also have to realize that this site is free to use and payment is only voluntary, and it is easy to win a medal or two without membership. It would be nice if Ryan actually allowed improvement, or even indicated in any way that he actually cared about making this site better, but until that happens, good players like you will likely continue to leave, and idiots who only care about getting as many points as possible will only make the site worse. |

at 12:26 PM, Monday April 4, 2011 EDT Having a rating system would be wonderful. I do think though that the .5% of the people who would intentionally mess with peoples' ratings would only do so with players everyone generally knows. For example, if I decided for whatever reason to rate myself up 150 times and Loobee down 150 times, almost everyone would know that the ratings for the two of us are inaccurate- I don't play enough to get that many ratings, and Loobee is a sweetheart and would probably get 99% positive ratings. So... 95% people would know if you were fucking with the ratings system.

at 12:44 PM, Monday April 4, 2011 EDT I know it's a bit tricky and probably impossible (ryan would get a heart attack from the extra coding on top of the extra coding) but I just wanted to throw an addition to the concept in the group.
first 50 games you can't rate. After that you get a 50% vote. You can only start rating at 100% vote after say 100 or 200 games. Maybe 200% vote after say 500-1000 games (senior voters) or if a mod promotes you to senior voter earlier. People with very negative ratings themselves could get reduced voting % to limit their troll impact. People that get reported by too many people for unfair low rating could get a manual lowering of their vote % (done by the mods). |

at 12:58 PM, Monday April 4, 2011 EDT oh, one last thing a few days ago I stumbled on a guy that might be of help to Ryan. He is a Flash programmer and wants to create spin-offs to DiceWars.
Let's not be too hopeful but I am trying to get them both into contact with each other P.S. www.micewars.com : a dicewars game where you can pick where to put your dice reserves ---> totally different game and would work great for a KDice spinoff too (maybe with a limit to the # of free dice to put to limit impact) |

First of all, good riddance, you're one of the most boring players on this site. If you ever do decide to play on the top tables like many have suggested, you'll see that the political side of the game, which you probably abhor is way more prevalent and important. You not only have to secure flags but you need to actually get flags and secure the map effectively. You have to assume people are going to backstab if there's a chance. I love that part of the game, it adds intrigue and a significant amount more strategy than just accepting flags in round 2 or 3 and then sitting around while people fight over whether they get -100 or -125. Backstabs, Revolts, Dasstabs - these are the things taht make kdice fun, not collecting flags in round 2 and sitting there while someone with 3 lands fights someone with 4 lands. besides that - for the monte posts - tl;dr |
