That's why I hate US Politicians, and I am sure if I bothered to read conservative websites they would have something similar, just less funny because lets face it the Right just isn't as funny as the Left not that there is anything wrong with that.

ya love the daily show, i liked their bit about freedom packages (not sure what that link is of but i definitely watched it if it was in the last two weeks)

greek i think you'll appreciate that douglas adams quote on the presidency:

"Anyone who is capable of getting themselves made President should on no account be allowed to do the job."

speaking candidly to a friend & colleague i really do like obama (his bracket is immaculate, that dude must have insider info) despite a lot of the shit i disagree with about the current direction the nation is going in and the the way his administration has been handling some things. ultimately seeing someone i like actually be elected president and watching their trials and tribulations is really sobering, despite a lot of shit that they would like to do they're often limited to a certain narrative. it's quite unfortunate but at the same time i guess it's better than having dictator or despot.

i personally think the most efficient form of government would be a multi-party presidency/prime minister meritocracy wherein one would be required to be familiar with political issues and policies in order to vote, as well as some basic understanding of history. but let's be honest that'll never happen anywhere.

by the way if anyones wondering where my recent fervor for politics is coming from i am running for the treasury secretary of the democrats club here at notre dame. i'm hoping to end up like nukky thompson.

hahahahaahahahahahaha you're defending Obama oh my fucking god that's so ridiculous. Obama is just as conservative as GWB. We're currently bombing in 6 different countries right now, Obama has extended the PATRIOT Act, Obama's Justice Administration has carried out extrajudicial executions of "terrorists" that even Bush wouldn't have touched with a 10-foot pole, he entrenched the private insurance industry with his healthcare reform, -- the same reform that was promoted by fucking Newt Gingrich back in the '90s -- he's so eager to "end bipartisanship" that he's never actually come out on one side of an issue ever and appears completely weak and inconsistent, and so much more. It really blows my fucking mind that now that there's a black "Democratic" President he's beyond criticism from these white milquetoast liberals. Get the fuck out of here.

I'd much rather listen to Thraxle talk about his deranged, misguided worldview than your liberal bullshit.

By the way, this isn't related to Obama, but read this: http://www.rightofassembly.org/learn/economic-power/why-individualism-is-wrong

I disagree with some of it, but their criticism of individualism is spot on.

Marxism:

The article indicates that corporations are a threat to liberty through private power. But corporations are creations of government. It would be better to say that corporations are a kind of government.

Because corporations originally were created and sponsored by governments in the 1600s does not mean they are not a threat to liberty now. Your statement makes absolutely no sense. Just because corporations started out under mercantilism as creations of government does not mean they exist currently as creations of government. Are you drunk or did you just not think out your response before you typed it out?

I'd really love to see how Bank of America is responsible to the American government whatsoever.

All corporations that came into existence, and all corporations that are in existence, owe their being to a charter whose legal force arises from the state. The state can alter or abolish its corporation-making powers. In the United states, corporations obtain their charters through the individual states, with some exceptions, such as national banks.
