K8, I like Hillary and Ron Paul, despite having very opposite political views to libertarians. Could you elaborate on why you don't like these politicians, maybe a little bit more than "she's a dike" and "he's a hippy."

If you don't actually know much about either politician it seems sort of unfair to express severe disapproval without actually familiarizing yourself with their positions and philosophies. If this is indeed the case then I think the wikipedia article TC posted a few pages back about Edward Bernay may interest you.

I don't mind Ron Paul's car days as much as how crazy he has gone. It's more the fact that his ideas are soooo out there that I don't view him as being realistic in ever being able to get much done if he were to be the president. If you would like we could aim about this in more detail.

In respects to Hilary, I don't want the first female president in history and to represent females the way she does. Same for Palin. I also don't agree with Hilary's ideas of the concept of money...or much of anything lolz. Again I will go into more detail if this is not enough for you.

i have a hard time with this statement coming from a 20 year old aimed at skrum:

das, I think its sorta ok, it is a standard argument in the healtcare debate. all that is required to make it is to do research about how its different other places.

this might be the biggest weakness of american politics, IMO. the fact that most people have no idea about how it really is in other countries, while they think USA is the best place in the world.

the standard responses to the statements;
1) it is better than everywhere else in the world!
- "you have never tried any place else, how can you say that" or - "it still does not mean we cannot and should not try to make it better"

2) i feel its good enough
- "you have never tried any place else, how can you say that" or - "it does not mean we cannot make it better"


I think european politics has an edge at this part of democracy. Mainly because most people know more about how the system is other places in the world.

Yes, das and boner, I have been around a while and almost could be called "elderly". In the 60's and 70's I was going to school or in the military and didn't do much media. I enjoyed AFRTS while stationed in Iceland. I am mostly into reading.
