I would like to applaud the lower tables for very little cheating and a relative fun style of play. I think the upper tables can take a lesson or two from the lower tables.
Yes diplomacy is a part of war, however we must not forget that it is not the only part of war. This is a war game as a reminder. I would like to apologize for contributing this style of play over time. This is something that I never thought I would say as a female dicer myself, but I think the females of the site have made the upper tables a lot more about gossip and popularity than they should be. |

Cheating on this site is a valid concern, but the difficulty lies in what is and isn't cheating. This game is many different things. It is a war game, in part, much like Risk. It is also, especially at higher tables, a strategy game much like the old Avalon Hill (now Hasbro) game "Diplomacy". The higher you go, the less people you are playing with, and the more diplomacy gets used. Also, that smaller play pool makes it seem as if there are more cheaters. I don't think there are, per se, but again it all kind of depends on what you would consider cheating. Identify that, and you will have your idea of what "Playing the game to play the game" really is. And most importantly, as there is a social element, what "playing the game" means to you may not be what it means to me, or the guy sitting teal, or anyone else. This game becomes personalized once you get into playing it in a serious way. |
