Here are the top 100 arranged by level of dom compared to participant in flagfest with same percentage profile, corrected for firsts. Compare these with the list a month ago. Is there a correlation between wimpiness and being toward the bottom of the list?

at 10:20 AM, Sunday December 12, 2010 EST If you have flagged a real flag, and you let people take lands from you while they are fighting, you will go higher in the list. Say that you have flagged for second, first has 8 lands, you have 7, and the rest have 13. If you go out with your 7, your dom would be 7/15. Say that you give up a land while you are sitting. When you go out, your dom would be 6/14, a little bit lower, so you would go higher in the list. The player who took your land would go higher in the list for a given place of finish.

at 5:50 PM, Sunday December 12, 2010 EST Upon further thinking about the dom stat, it might be better to calculate net dom (dom less buy-in) rather than take a dom ratio. The "buy-in" for each player for each game is 1/7 of the number of lands. Suppose that there are 28 lands and seventh goes out with 3 lands. He will have bought in with 4/28 and leaves with 3/28 for a net dom of -1/28. Now suppose that sixth goes out with 5 lands. His buy-in of four lands, which he could have lost, is now 4/25 and he goes out with 5/25 or a net dom of 1/25. Suppose that fifth, fourth, third, and second all go out with 4 lands. All of their net doms are zero. First place ends up with 4 lands and having a buy-in now of 4/4, his net dom is zero. This game is almost a perfect flagfest. A perfect flagfest would have a net dom of zero. So seventh has -1/28 compared to the flagfest datum and fifth has 1/25. First would always have zero net dom and would be neutral.
So, net dom, instead of dom over flagfest dom, might be the way to go. I will work it out when I get back to my spreadsheet. |

at 9:50 PM, Monday December 13, 2010 EST so i stay in top10 nevertheless. thx skrum for making up a stat where i come in top10. some possible explanations. i play only maps with few lands, (like in <30 usually), i usually dont farm. what other factors are tehre that influence the way you deduct wimpiness. and am i top wimpi or top ballsy on your list?
