When I started playing the game, I really thought that a nice player was able to do well. I would get stabbed and stuff all the time :P Now, it's kinda of tiring. People take advantage of the 'nicer players' ... SO I'm asking for the help of everyone who stabs, farms etc. Give me the best advice you can :P Also I think I'll need a new name if I fall into the darkness... any suggestions?

People who pretend to feel bad are pieces of shit and get yelled at and hated eventually by most players.

pretending to feel bad works on the newer payers a lot of the time. I prefer to dress it up as I'm playing for the win, and stabbing is a viable strategy to win. This works pretty well most of the time, with most types of players. so far the only player of any note that has pged me for any length do to this strategy is mars. and it only lasted 3 or 4 games.

Sure it works on newer players/idiots but if you are not one of those you come off as a super duper jackoff.

If you (the person being farmed/stabbed etc) is not one of those (idiots) then you (the person farming/stabbing etc) come off as a jackoff.

If your aim is to do well, then I suggest you do not play the lower tables (anything below 2000). Unfortunately it's not as viable to stab and get away with it on high tables so I suggest you ignore everyone else that has posted so far and focus on actually learning how to play and how to truce.

There's certain styles of play and phrases that will often result in your trucing of a neighboring player (given they are at least somewhat experience). As long as you steer clear of 500s and below you won't have to deal with such players very often, and trust me that in it of itself is a huge step towards doing well in KDice. I don’t mean to generalize but a large portion of the players that play <2000 are inexperience, unskilled, and generally not as adroit. When you play you want to be able to truce as often and as many people as possible in a game, because by sheer probability this will increase your chances of winning. Given that there is a large portion of players in the lower tiers that are adverse to cooperation it is in your best interest to not play in these tables. I hope I don’t have to elaborate further on why it is important to truce.

As I said there’s certain means and methods of achieving truces and cooperation with the players around you. Since you can’t have an incredible start and ridiculous luck every game these will be the best channels to success. I cannot list any phrases or maneuvers specifically, as they're very much context oriented, and to be honest I usually improvise anyway. So my suggestion to you is to do as CockBlock said and watch the better unscrupulous players, what they say, and how they play. Then imitate them for a while until you can improvise yourself.

As far as playing like an asshole, you should learn to designate between players you can fuck and those who you should maintain good relations with (and sometimes reward). Monte and others refer to this as an OTF (old trusted friend) bias. I call it what it is: PGA lite. I will readily admit I employ this on a regular basis and I am confident when I say 100% of the top 25 does as well. Of course Thraxle has assured me that such play is not PGA and not a bannable offense. But let me assure you, a lemon is a lemon and an understanding between playing to treat each other preferentially over others is a pregame agreement. I’m sorry I’m rambling but my point is this: employ OTF as much as you can, but realize that it you can’t make everyone happy all of the time. Make sure to OTF players that OTF you and, if you really want to be a dirty, OTF them over AIM and tell them how to move.

My finally advice to you is the most important: Never play for second place. Playing for second place (or any place below first) is a sure fire way of losing points or simply not winning as many games as you ideally could have. Never flag. I'll say it again for you, so it gesticulates - Never flag. If the strongest player is knocking at your doorstep do whatever you can to IMPLY you are submissive or even flagging in the future, so long as you do not actually utter the words "flag X" you will leave yourself with a lot more leeway later in the game. Now if a player is stronger than you and is becoming threatening you should also employ different means of pacifying him or her. Some examples are implying you will flag without explicitly saying so, trucing, and even suggestion cooperation. The last one works best if you imply that that player will win first through cooperation with you. Of course we know that that’s not the case and actually you will probably win first, hopefully through manipulation of the board. As far as cooperation in general, it’s usually never a bad idea (even if the player in question has 1 or 2 lands) so long as you can discern when it is to your advantage and when it is not. 90% of the time it will be to your advantage though. Oh and make sure it’s not too overt that everyone else of the board will react to it.

If you do backstab in a >500, make sure you don't backstab anyone with clout, a newer player is usually a prime candidate. But also be weary that other players may frown upon your actions. A good defense for the empathic players is to veil your backstab in some sort of weak justification (i.e. getting the other player to attack you, even though you have obviously set yourself up as threat to him).

My closing though for you is this Pink: This game is a game of diplomacy and manipulation. Master them and you will master this game. And let’s be honest, diplomacy and manipulation is the only difference between KDice and that not so different game Dicewars.

Man it's late and there's a lot of typos in that. I hope the point gets across though pink

you have no idea of how wrong this is, most people will accept the appology, I did not suggest that you do mean moves, I suggested that you do the best moves to play for the win, and if you had to screw someone over, you could pretend to feel bad about it. ofcourse you have to take into concideration who you are talking too.

usually a "sorry mate", is enough to not get revenge attacks, and PGEs. many of the chatactive top players play like this, they make you understand that this is their best move, and they are sorry that it had to damage you personally.
