Since many of you haven't played team dice before and since I don't have the old thread where we worked this out bookmarked I have decided to do the community a service and outline the rules for all to consult. Team KDice is compromised by being played on tables of 7 players and as a consequence there are many way to deal with the issues this creates. For your benefit I will outline the most fair and efficient method for organizing a team game.
1) THE TEAMS (A & B) ARE MADE UP OF THREE (3) PLAYERS EACH 2) THE LAST PLAYER TO ATTACK (STARTING TURN) IS CONSIDERED THE NEUTRAL PLAYER. THAT IS TO SAY THAT PLAYER DOES NO ATTACK OR MOVE FOR THE ENTIRETY OF THE GAME ****The neutral player may move the first round in order to connect, but from there on no one will attack the neutral (except as a last option connect) 3) TEAMS ARE DECIDED RANDOMLY BY THEIR TURN. THE FIRST, THIRD, AND FIFTH PLAYERS WILL MAKE UP TEAM A. THE SECOND, FOURTH, AND SIXTH PLAYERS TO ATTACK WILL MAKE UP TEAM B. THE SEVENTH PLAYER TO ATTACK IS THE NEUTRAL. ****Example: Red starts. Red, Purple and Blue are on Team A. Then Green, Yellow, and Brown are on Team B. Teal is Neutral. 4) THE TWO TEAMS WILL FIGHT FROM THE BEGINNING OF THE GAME. THEY WILL AVOID HITTING THE NEUTRAL PLAYER, EXCEPT TO CONNECT. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCE MAY YOU KILL THE NEUTRAL. THE NEUTRAL PLAYER WILL EARN AT MINIMUM FOURTH (4TH) PLACE; ABOVE THE LOSING TEAM; BELOW THE LOSING TEAM. ****Being neutral can suck. You will get 4th sometimes and no dom. But sometimes you may get 2nd or 3rd because the losing team knocked some players out for you. Keep that in mind and don't let it discourage you if you are designated neutral. CLOSING SUGGESTIONS: I recommend that you play on a large map as a opposed to a smaller map so that the neutral player does not present as much of an obstruction. I also suggest you play on a wide open map with few chokes, for the same reasons. Plus the bigger the map, the better chance you have at making a comeback, it’s more exciting. My second suggestion is that you let everyone know that you are playing a team game and that no one is surprised. This can be accomplished by posting the “Team KDice Map of the Month” in a thread. Feel free to do so in here as to minimize the confusion among players. I also suggest you play on higher stakes tables, since the lower tables will probably net you a lot of random players |

at 3:38 PM, Wednesday June 6, 2012 EDT Bump, just a reminder:
I like team games, but i have to think for/with 3 or 4 players, not just my move, it's intensive board reading & chatting. and before we play a team game, we SPAM the chat with: This is a team game, 1st 3 to start are a team vs last 4, then the winning team roll ---- x player, do you agree on team game ? x are you reading ? ok, x doesn't know, ABORT team game. maybe next game. ------ then to be sure, a player wanting to play team game, stand to sit teal, so he's sure every one agree on team game. coz sometimes, u don't know, and don't read, u just sit and play your turn while doing something else, then you ask: A) what are the news ? who flaged to who ? B) nah we were playing team game dude, now you roll for 5/6 A) oh, good to know ---------------- ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ "If not all 7 people at the table agree to a team game but you all play it anyways I will fucking ban you forever, main and alts. I won't do it without either witnessing or seeing serious video evidence of such douchebaggery. I FUCKING DESPISE TEAM GAMES. They would be fun if the game was coded for them but it isn't. If all 7 agree feel free to play, if I see any games where it isn't all 7 people wanting the team game I will ban ALL OFFENDING ACCOUNTS FOREVER, mains and alts." JUst a ReminDer. |
