Yeah, it was an effort to increase competition and avoid the blatant flaggotry that was rampant. The same intent motivated the change in scoring. Neither modification has resulted in a reduction of pussy flagging. I wish Ryan would just bring back flagging out, instead of flagging for position.

it was moved to round 8 to encourage the use of vflags, so people could use vflags w/o being harrassed into showing a real flag ("put it up then!")...

Gone are the days when someone would spread theirselves out thin flag then eveyone would say stupid ninjia flag and kill them for it. Seems to be honarble now to allow someone to make a bad move in a game and they get rewarded for it.
