Bored of flag waves, miss the old times, want to have some fun playing differently ?
Stop accepting vflags : kill or ignore vflaggers and respect only real flags and silent moves. Please join by replying to this topic :) Screw the points, share the fun ! |

+A +million totally agree, vflags mess the games and make it so dull, esp coz no one counter them, respect real flags only. can we have this no vflag month ? if it's still ok to fight 1/3 battles that's it :D longer games for real fun. maybe we can change avatars to a v-flag crossed with a line to assure who is into this. |

at 7:53 PM, Monday November 1, 2010 EDT Well, the idea behind the "no vflags" is to force people to fight thus making games longer and more open to silent moves == producing fun and rewarding skilled players.
Replacing vflags by earlier real flags would be counter-productive imo. A good perma-fix would be to disable the chat for the first few rounds : I tried to do that with random players last month and I had many positive comments from people that never played that way and enjoyed it better (I like silent games too ^^). But 90% of the time, there was 1 or 2 players that did not want to play by these rules or did not understand them and screwed the experience for everyone else.... At least, with the "no vflag" you do not need to have all the players in agreement : as soon as you start telling you will not accept vflags people do not use them as easily (specially if you explain why). 2 players stating they do not accept vflags is almost always enough to prevent vflag waves. Concerning the "No VFlags" avatar, I think it's a pretty good idea, I am ready to change mine if enough people jump in =) |

I really don't see the problem! If it's good for you - accept the v-flag! If it's not - don't! If it's good for you to counter another player's v-flag - counter it! If it's not - don't! Just stop the whining about v-flagging.. V-flagging exists and you'll be a better player if you learn to deal with them accordingly! |

Joke aside, it's not about me here but about "new" (or rather "not old") players that do not understand why you refuse their vflag since it's the only way they learned to play kdice... No whinning here, not trying to impose something to others, just old ways I would like new open minded players to discover and enjoy so yeah, maybe it's "another vflag thread" but I just needed something to link on my games without necroposting :) |

at 10:37 PM, Monday November 1, 2010 EDT It's not the V-Flaggers who are the problem with this game. Some people V-Flag in early rounds to the only person who can kill them, then stack and expect to fight later while others are trying to advance their positions. Then much crying ensues after the fact. It is up to the people that accept the flags to let the flaggers know that they are conceding to fourth place by V-flagging in early rounds at the time of the V-Flag. That's my new style of playing, and I don't care which whiners like it or not.

at 10:59 PM, Monday November 1, 2010 EDT It used to be round 1 or 2, but people would just put up the 2nd flag to whoever had the best start. Ryan moved it to round 5 and then round 8 to prevent people flagging so early. It obviously didn't help.
