Good morning KDice:
As most of you know a player has the ability to enter and participate in tourneys even if they are at a status of -play. I have tried to discourage this by taking away chat privileges during a -play status, but this is not working due to players chat proxying in tournies. Henceforth, the timeframe I set for -play bans will BEGIN at the last day a tournament is played. I will also lobby with Ryan to have all points earned in tournies after a ban has occured to be multiplied by 2 and docked from that accounts point total. If a player is caught chat proxying in a tourney I will chat ban the account used to chat proxy for the duration the original account is banned. If none of this works I will lobby for Ryan to MEGAban all accounts tied to that players IP address. |

at 10:49 AM, Wednesday October 7, 2009 EDT i think another good idea that has been discussed for spotting cheaters is the ebay-style ratings system. not that you should only use it exclusively, but it would definitely be another tool that you could use as evidence of how well liked/hated the person is.
and i really dont think it would be abused by using alt armies to vote up a cheater. that could easily be detected by any mod with a brain, and the alt army could then be banned or whatever. i really see this as a good tool. |
