THE END OF PGAS!!!!!

These are the organized ideas from my other topic. PLEASE RYAN, READ THIS UNTIL THE END:

1)What if we COULDN'T SEE THE NAME of the players we're playing against? Than allies couldn't know who's his/her partner in the table.

2)Not only that but also, if THERE'S NO CHAT, then there's no way they can even stabilish a code to know who they are...

3) Also, if we're sent to an RANDOM TABLE BASED IN POINTS, there's no way allies can even know where they are. Like this: If player 1 want to play in alliance with player 2 in a 0 points table... And they're sent to a random 0 points table... The plan is over... Even if they're by luck sent to the same table, there's no way they will know it because of the first 2 ideas...

So instead of tables, we should see lines like this:

Line for 0 points:
27 people waiting, 17 seconds remaining to form next tables.

Line for 100 points:
4 people waiting, 8 seconds remaining to form a table.

4) THE COLORS AND POSITIONS ARE RANDOM as soon as you enter the table. That way, even if the PGAs describe the table they are to confirm they're there, they will not know who they are. Cuz in their page, they'll always be number 1 player with color they prefer. (Since there's no chat box, we could have a new feature to take place and actually help couldn't we?).

If they even dare to describe the table they are at and talk by MSN or something the time they're playing, we could even try a number 5:

5) THE FORMATION OF THE LINES OF PEOPLE FOR THE TABLE SHOULD BE "TIME BASED" and not autamatic. That way, even if PGAs click the kind of table they like at the same time, they will have to wait about 30 seconds until the line is formed and then mixed.

This idea came from "L":

"6)On a side note, Id love to see a "flag box" in place of the chat box. In my view a "flag box" would basically have 6 flags with the 6 corresponding colors next to a flag. If you want to flag someone, you click the flag next to there color and BOTH YOURSELF AND THE PERSON YOU FLAGGED TOO CAN NO LONG ATTACK EACH OTHER.

If I had a dollar everytime I would flag (VFlag or real flag) and got attacked to see "sorry didn't see" typed in Id be a billionaire. This could be abused by people suiciding and than flagging of course so some kind of program that wouldn't allow you to flag a person for atleast 1 rd after attacking them would have to be developed but I think its doable."

And just to remember, that would also prevent people that take advantage of the flag to stack dices and atack later...

IF THE ADM THINK ABOUT IT, A LOT OF PEOPLE DON'T PLAY ANYMORE BECAUSE OF PGAS, BUT IF THERE ARE NO LONGER PGAS, THAT MEANS MORE PEOPLE WILL PLAY... AND SURELY MEANS MORE MONEY SINCE IT WILL BE WORTHY TO PEOPLE THAT REALLY APRECIATE THE GAME.

As I told... That means more money. When Ryan started this game, he surely saw potential for it somehow (for amount of players, or money, or something). If he had the effort to put this game in practice, and he agree it would be good for the game in both ways (player and money), why wouldn't he have the effort to change for better if he had the effort to start it?

I still have a hope... But if that don't happen, I'm sure somebody will copy the idea and do it better just as they did with games like "Tactics 100 Live" that was copyed and turned into the better "Tactics Arena". If you think about it, kdice is only a multiplayer copy of "Dice Wars", shouldn't be hard to some developer to take it to another level... All they need is space on the net.

Kam... for saying "even those pseudo pga games have been fun.", you got me to seriously doubt your intentions.

I saw people calling names that must not even exist when a pga shows up... This means stress... people get angry and pissed off... Where's the fun of it? You lose points even if you're the most talented player here, and get frustraded... Where's the fun of it?

Again, those are ideas against PGAs but we must know what is more important for us... no chat... or no PGA...

We could even split kdice in both ways, so every body would be happy... THOSE ARE IDEAS. I KNOW IT MAY NEED MORE SPACE. But again... where's the fun of it?

Oh Kam... and about waiting 20 seconds to form a table... NO TABLE is ever formed in less than that... sometimes EVEN TABLES WITH 6 PEOPLE wait 40 seconds until someone go there to complete... Am I lying???

max, i meant the old school cabal and anti-cabal pgas. they have been obvious, and didnt hide. they mostly just sat with 1-2 seats per table. it was counterable, it was mostly on high tables 2k / 10k, and everyone knew it.

today you got those dumb teams, where everyone could be a pga / team - yes, thats stress. if you dont play alot you gonna end up in low places all the time. thats for sure.

BUT chat is the only way to counter any kind of truce, pga, pussyflag, team, or whatever. people will always find a way to bypass the rules and hardcore pga, but its a question of control.

@chase: he posted a week ago in a topic. ok, it was just about some possible bugs about showing the game-board, but well... you're maybe right.

mod controlled rcs could be definetly an option. but we need at least more mods. no offense thrax, but you cant watch 24/7 and you shouldnt.

More mods would be good, but mods need the ability to dock and modify scores in tournies and games that results are seen as unfair or a result of friends helping friends.

The problem here is finding people willing to be objective about this. I mean even Ryan isn't objective when it comes to this. So yes more moderation is needed but is truely fair moderation with the ability to change and punish scores, because be honest that is what hurts the people that whore points, possible? I dunno.

agreed again, more mods, more power for mods, and for the more serious decisions (point resets, tourney faggotry, etc.) like a 2/3 agreement from all the kdice mods?

Being able to setup player RC's is a wonderful idea.

It would also be great to access game logs, chat logs, and IP address/account info so shared accounts can be easily identified.

I don't think Ryan trusts anyone enough to give them that kind of power.

KAM,

Chat is not the ONLY way to counter PGA. In the topic I point 6 IDEAS if you didn't notice... And they're DEFINITIVE. Not 100% great because of the down sides, but surely DEFINITIVE. As I told, we must define what is more important... have chat or don't have PGA. With opinions divided, we could split kdice in a part with the ideas from the topic and the part without it...

According to you, chat is THE ONLY way to counter PGAs... Not only the TOPIC shows you it's NOT, but also I tell you what chat could do against them:

1) With chat you can warn people. But you could also warn wrong, plus PGA could "warn" too... Bad solution and temporary solution, with collateral effects that could prejudice non-pga people...

2) With chat, you could form your own team of PGA to counter PGAs, but in that case YOU BECOME THE PROBLEM ALSO.

If you wanna point something else, please do it... But All I have done talking to you was repeat what I already said, so please READ BEFORE TALKING.

I'm not going to repeat again...

The thing is: your suggestions could work, but they gonna kill the social gaming part. Whats the fun about a game where you cant even chat with your friends and enemies? Its just dicewars...

On the other hand some of your discribed ways (like random tables and lines) could be pretty funny.
