1st = 100
2nd = 50 3rd = 25 100/175 = 57.1% of points on offer. 50/175 = 28.6% " 25/175 = 14.3% " NOT INCLUDING DOM. -SO WHY THE FUCK WOULD U PLAY FOR 2ND.3RD. IF YOU HAVE A 50% CHANCE AT FIRST, GO FOR IT, AND PLAY THE ODDS. - RISK/REWARD RATIO. 4 3rds = 1 1st, if you have a 25% chance at FIRST, GO FOR IT. LASTLY, DONT SETTLE FOR 2ND, IN A 3 WAY FIGHT. 2nd does not equal /halfway/ between 1st and 3rd. DOM IS THERE FOR A REASON, be aggressive!! and stop flagging! |

at 9:52 AM, Monday May 4, 2009 EDT I have not posted the convolution integral (CI) for a while, but it seems to be germane to this thread. The CI represents your skill scaled to a particular level of table (that is, if all your games had been at the zero level tables and you had the same number of firsts, seconds, etc., what would be your score per game?). The CI is exact if you play at only 0 or 100 level tables and is a little off if you play at higher levels (because of dom) but still is a fairly good fit. For the CI, a first is 90 points, second, 40 points, etc. because it is corrected for the average gain of 10 points per game. Here are the top 100 arranged by CI.
CI Player 0.55 fiero600 0.51 Shevar 0.40 Homer Simmpson 0.35 Tomster 0.34 LulThyme 0.32 alanispani 0.30 Unfaithful 0.29 pizza_the_hutt 0.28 ZIGIBOOM 0.28 Linssen 0.27 Mazaman 0.26 Jslap! 0.26 jetsjetsjets31 0.25 Simons 0.25 Dark_lunatic_K 0.24 beyazguvercinus 0.24 the camel 0.24 Da Hand of Space 0.23 Vohaul 0.23 McKilla 0.22 dasfury 0.22 riccardo 0.22 Murmadamus 0.22 Dancerr 0.22 THE NIGGLER 0.22 HBergeron 0.22 fish28 0.21 talbotlives 0.21 haugra4 0.21 Damon87 0.21 juke_de 0.20 AMO 0.20 Easy A 0.20 DaShiVa 0.20 kaneda_z 0.20 savif 0.19 omalg 0.19 JeremyS 0.19 BLUNTMAYNE420 0.18 stakaboo 0.18 Fatman_x 0.18 Parian 0.18 JR junior 0.18 bcmatteagles 0.18 lesplaydices 0.18 salle888 0.15 shadolin 0.15 Toorn 0.15 Salmonella 0.14 finkebr 0.14 just_jack 0.14 Gabble 0.14 tryin' 0.13 panzer 0.13 skillz999 0.13 Zipl0c 0.13 PureOdyssey 0.13 T-800 Model 101 0.12 RandomOunce 0.12 than 0.12 Rsquared 0.12 jilm2 0.11 snoopdog 0.11 Dirty.H. 0.10 nodice4u 0.10 Takadade 0.10 Coconutt 0.10 imanema 0.10 ffbsensei 0.09 wiggin1 0.09 unike 0.09 leeeroy jenkins 0.09 SodaPop 0.09 kakku man 0.09 potent potable 0.09 Riskkk 0.09 Mr.Maxwell 0.09 Hisbop 0.09 LOren. 0.09 flizza 0.08 Jitterbug 0.08 [- y c a r u -] 0.08 captainLAGER 0.08 sabr5 0.08 masterDD 0.07 Zippi 0.07 NinjaPirate 0.06 WILenin 0.06 greekboi 0.03 viana 0.02 dr. zoidberg 69 0.01 fcuku 0.01 Mitsi the cat 0.01 NIKE10 0.01 ImbettathanAnish 0.01 atta de heerser 0.01 Chris0123 -0.01 jethr0 -0.01 fletch85 -0.02 junfire |

PPG = sum of all points/games played. - your highest trophey is 18th.. LOL, im talking about top 4 places, which 1st>2nd>3rd>4th --< BUT THE PROPORTIONS OF CHANGE ARE NOT EQUAL. 3 players left, 33% chance at 1st/2nd/3rd, you should always play for 1st. as over 'a million' games you will earn more points. as 0.33*(1st) + 0.33*(2nd) + 0.33*(3rd) is greater than 1*(2nd) MR KREUZ - 156 PPG IN APRIL, LOL - UR SHIT " you are rigth, i never had or will ever have time to play 400 games a month. but i find it sad that you would choose to use a month i only played 28 games, and had to do it without membership from the 0 tables. and i had 35 % 1sts that month. my argument was that the style that gives you more 1sts also increases the chanses of failures. and you cannot separate the end of the game from the beginning. in this situations with vflagging the players ARE flagging when 5th-7th is a possibility. Don't come dragging here with maths that dont look at the entire picture, and statistics where you refuse to look at the entire picture, and to mix it up you just choose to get in some insults without any foundation. if you want to sound like a 12 year old boy that have not learned how to argue, please continue, but warn me so that i don't have to waste any more time reading and replying to your posts. |

but you seem to have ignored the message I was sending, sure the points work in reverse.- -but i was depicting a situation were u have 3 big players - and everyone flags - instead of going for the prize. |

at 7:09 AM, Tuesday May 5, 2009 EDT ah, that situation is obv. but i did not see that it was the only situation you described in your post. nthe only reason to flag then is if you belive they will team up against you. if the do that you should say that you flag 2nd and try to have them figth for 1st/3rd (still ONLY if they team up against you (or you want to leave and don't have time))
i am one of the players that have been on both sides. A year ago (march 08) i "played for 2nd" that month I got my 0% 7th, (i also had another 0 % 7th later with top 25) but as the style changed for most players, so did what i consider the "best" style. and the best style nowadays i belive is go hard for 1st. and players that have done that well is me (months wih more than 30 % 1sts) sam, and das. but a point about the "best" style is that i belive that the best style at any given point is the best counterstratigy against what players most are playing. so when so may players play for 2nd, then it will be easier for go getter players to get more 1sts, but it can be reversed. if all players go for 1st or bust, then you should go for 2nd and 3rd while cutting deals. |
