wrong your neighbor put your neighbor on food stamps. all of this institutionalization theory stuff is a bunch of bull crap. i mean i live in Douglas County, Oregon which has an unemployment rate of 20%, and i still was able to get a decent job (18 per hour). Although i come from a middle class family and have 3 years of college education, they didnt do jack shit in finding me my job as a tree trimmer.
If it where up to me we wouldnt have mandatory charity overseen by the government (which no matter who is in office wellfare, medicare, medicaid, and the such will never be as efficient as private organizations profit or non profit). somebody tell me why the government is throwing money at the problem when England (who did the exact same thing starting a year before us) has already proven that it just leads to everybody being dependent on government handouts?

on another note do you guys remember when the U.S. was a nation of fiscally responsible individuals?

"Although i come from a middle class family and have 3 years of college education, they didnt do jack shit in finding me my job as a tree trimmer."

This isn't true. Socioeconomic background is an extraordinarily influential part of why you are the way you are (i.e. you had goals of finding a job, getting an education, a clear vision of what you determine as success, support from you family/teachers/mentors, etc...)

"(which no matter who is in office wellfare, medicare, medicaid, and the such will never be as efficient as private organizations profit or non profit)"

um. privatizing all healthcare would leave out the poor, yes? plus anyone who doesn't effectively plan for retirement or disasters, right? I mean, its not like people who depend on welfare or medicare are living the highlife here. You cant assume everyone in the country has their shit together, and it's not a matter of laziness or incompetence. Having a safety-net for the country's population seems like the job of a government to me...

"somebody tell me why the government is throwing money at the problem when England (who did the exact same thing starting a year before us) has already proven that it just leads to everybody being dependent on government handouts?"

are you referencing health care here? if so, I think I already addressed the necessity of at least some sort of public health service. If you're just talking about the bailout, I'm no economic buff.

"on another note do you guys remember when the U.S. was a nation of fiscally responsible individuals?"

this never happened.
