TRUCE QUESTION ... please reply

Gurgi and I were playing on a 100 table .. he said he'd leave me alone early which (I was stronger than him at the time) let me build up properly and be unassailable 1st. It also allowed me to kill the enemies around him and let him build. At the end of the game he asked me to attack a flagged player so he could get 2nd. He had approximately the same terr and dice and a connection to this player. Should I have attacked? Because I didn't and he gave up instead of fighting and now thinks we're PGE. Was it a defacto truce? Any opinions?

IMO you were given the easy win thanks to Gurgi not attacking you. I would have protected him. But that's just me...

that really al depends on how the chat was, in combination with what happend on the table until then. if i am unsure I ask the player if it is ok if i let him fight alone.

WB is right. Im tired of players flagging to a stronger player then wanting that player to fight for them. Grow a set and fight! WB you did nothing wrong.

It was a ceasefire not an alliance!

I made a thread a few days ago asking when is a truce a truce.

My problem is how would I, or the rest of the board, or him for that matter, know you would reward him with 2nd, if not by verbal means? If we don't know that how can anyone counter?

This is why people smell PGA when a ceasefire early on turns into truce later on.

although you typically wouldn't honor the flag, being in a truce doesn't always mean that you give your truce buddy 2nd if you're in 1st.

sometimes the fair thing to do is to respect someone's flag even if you're in a truce. it's a case by case decision, and i usually weigh in factors such as original/implied agreement, original truce vs counter-truce, how hard the trucemate fought vs the enemy players, the integrity of the players involved, and if the enemy would have honored my flag if the roles were reversed. i guess it still comes down to an arbitrary decision.

buddha, i'm glad you play the game trying to do the right thing instead of only worrying about points.

Shad, he didn't flag to him according to WB's post, he said "he'd leave me alone". That's a truce and his partner deserves payment for getting him the win.

oh wait... this is about GURGI???

i don't care what the situation was, gurgi should have been shot (or had his dice attacked... or both) on sight!! he's more pga than I AM!! he's a bigger douche than ME!! his mom's not bad in the sack, but SHIT! i wish gurgi wouldn't try to climb in with us.
