Calling positions instead of earning them?

So I guess I missed this memo, I was three times my opponent's size but he got third not because he "called third" before i had a chance to say I would flag. Correct me if I'm wrong but that's total bullshit. They wouldn't even let me fight. They wrecked me and made me roll for it then killed me before the other guy even rolled.
and on top of that the two guys in 1st and 2nd were a PGA. Gotta love MooMooFarm and danlynch <3 |

at 3:34 AM, Tuesday February 24, 2009 EST Lol yea, I was watching 2000 table and one player (who was 4th on leaderboard at the time) basically expanded on 1st turn as far as he could leaving him with 2-dice stacks surrounded by large stacks of other players. You would think he would be instantly eaten? Not so much, he made arrangements with neighboring players that they won't touch him. Even though it made no sense at all to truce with him, since his 2-dice stacks couldn't be considered a real threat.
So, when 4th best player in February plays so bad you have to wonder if something is fishy here. |

I love when people point things like that out... assuming i actually dont know what word to use, under a situation where it actually matters? You really think your pointing out something worth while? ...REALLY? ...get a life. |

at 2:41 PM, Tuesday February 24, 2009 EST With Kreuzfeld on this one. It's one thing to say you'll take a position *your currently control* or to say you'd like to fight for a higher spot when the game is winding down and everyone's flag, but calling a position is nonsense. Happened to me a while ago where another guy had two stacks and sat whole game and I flag 3 with 7 stacks but they gave it to him because--according to him--"he called 3rd."
Looking at reviews though, it was pretty clear they were actually pga players and him saying he gets 3rd cause he called it was their way of trying to hide the fact. I suspect something similar with your case Kittie. |

Define earn. "Correct me if I'm wrong but that's total bullshit." Define bullshit. Different people have different flagging policies, his is that he grants position to those who call first. You are entitled to use the same flagging policy (or to use a different one) when you have the power to do so. |

at 5:41 PM, Tuesday February 24, 2009 EST i'm actually going to back up woahhaikittie on this one. i watched the pga go down. extremely n00b players. so the lesson here is that if you're going to call for a position you better either be me, or be pga.

at 11:10 PM, Tuesday February 24, 2009 EST Depends on the people playing. Some are total dicks, other people are more accommodating.
I treat kdice like I treat risk, it's a social game and people will often make promises or truces, and not necessarily keep them. Sometimes it's beneficial to try and form some kind of non-aggression pact, sometimes its better to just keep quiet. I usually let people fight it out if I'm higher up on the food chain of that game. Just because I don't risk anything, and I'm on the other end of that half the time. |
