playing + moderating = abuse of power

Apologies to that dude I kicked from the tournament tonight. I got pissed at a cheap move that was just good strategy and that kick button was too easy to press.

This could be an interesting free flowing and humorous discussion that would engage all the community but everybody is afraid that Ryan will ban their main accounts so they will wilt and not engage him on this -- except for Johnson who has brave balls, although Ryan has also made it clear that Johnson will never win a month so he has nothing to lose by letting loose on Ryan.

From what I have heard the 'Kick' button comes into play more for people that disagree with him than to clean up tourney play.

To Ryans' credit he did come forward and apologize to longhair. Which is a good thing and he should be encouraged to do things like that. To keep things real.

Also I don't think he 'kicks' peoples accounts because he dislikes freedom of speech. I think he does it because he is thin skinned and gets annoyed easily. Sometimes in a fit of passion he can't help but touch the kick button to just get people to shut the hell up. Unfortunately most of the people who get the 'kick' are paying members. To his credit he rarely ipbans -- unless of course you are RND...

Also he has put amazing amount of work into MTT and Kdice. It must be annoying all the haters and whiners going on and on -- and there are a lot of them. We are the beneficeries or Ryan's constant hard work so we should grant him some leeway....

But this month I have heard high players and low players, cheaters and non cheaters complaining about being banned or muted for disagreeing with Ryan. So much so that it washed out his message about changing the culture of the top players and instilling ethical play. A truly admirable honorable endeavor he started at the beginning of the month. However most of the players that agreed with him in the original thread were banned or muted for disagreeing with him or banned or muted or reset for alleged improper tourney behavior.

We love his game and respect his programming abilities. However it seems amazing to me that with his 'kick' button he treats people more like dice war bots and less like human beings.

I know, its Ryan's game I should stfu. Right?

It happens to the best of us. Your man enough to admit your own mistakes without any twists and man enough to apologize.

Um.... I don't think Murti is apologizing to Ryan... I think he is calling everybody who responded so meekly on this thread "bitches." ;P

[Murti = Priceless]

About changing the culture at the top, naturally ppl that play a lot will not only end up in the top but will keep a lot of tables going. If you try to drive those ppl away then you have less games starting so ppl losing interest. As it is now its frustrating trying to get a game going at a table I am allowed to play.
