I wonder if GrammarIsNowJoke is available.

Sadly, the game has never been fair play, but that kind of makes it fair play actually, when you realize that. Just change the definition of 'the game' a little.

Just 1 too many "I deserve 1st or 2nd but get 5th or 6th" because of friendships and returned favors.

You simply need to learn how to appease the royalty and worm your way into their confidence. Generally dropping a few points their way with early flagging in a few games, and being vocally wowed by their superior skill is sufficient. It also takes a little time. They are a hard lot and initially xenophobic, but if you play many hours a week for 18 months you can usually secure a bit of favor.

The rewards can be tremendous. Properly implemented, this advice will lead you to several little shiny circles next to your name.

i dont think an oldBoysClub reputation will get you anywhere nowadays.

two unsolicited words of advice to succeed in this game (and be on the other side of those "hey im giving you 2nd over everyone else" quotes):

1) as the great Grunvagr pointed out several months ago, try to have a personality. dont just be a passive mouse, be an active keyboard. chances are that if you have a nice personality, people will be nice to you in games.

2) in each individual game, reward those that are nice to you, and punish those that were mean to you. unless you are very high-stacked, dont go around trying to make more than 1 enemy at a time. this is the way i play. whenever i do get a 1st or 2nd, i try to give higher placement to my peaceful neighbors than to others who pestered me throughout the game.

on second thought... point 1 is way more important than point 2 in your case. hopefully this is just a phase youre going through, where you hate the game and all the nasty players. we all go through that phase at least once a month.

cheers, and hope you find more pleasant kdice crowds in the future.

discussing shit like that would require a proper definition of fair.

you get a totally fucked up start - unfair

you lose an important 5v3 - unfair

a player choses to kill you instead of 1 of the 5 other players - unfair

feel free to add more to the list, but burry the hope for fairness in this game. instead, enjoy the unpredictability of every single roll and dont mess up games by flagging early.

Simplified definition:

you lose = unfair

too bad you can't limit posts to registered users from 2007. I see a lot of jargon here from people who have only been playing for 2 months.
