Multi Table Tournament Decision

I just finished table reshuffling and the prize structure. It works well for GPokr but I've bumped into an interesting decision with kdice. In gpokr, tables can be reshuffled easily because hands are relatively short. In kdice reshuffling requires you to wait until other players are done. So there are three choices here:

1) You play the same people until a table in the tournament can be removed. At this point your table gets broken up and spread over the other tables. In this scenario you need to wait for your table to finish for the next game and when there's a reshuffle you need wait for another table to finish.

2) Games are synchronized. You don't start the next game until all games have finished. At that point tables are reshuffled at random. The benefit here is random players every round but longer waits.

3) Start new games as people are knocked out of current games. This is the quickest way to start new games but it creates a strange effect of winners playing winners and losers playing losers - or in other words big points on one table and none on another.

Thoughts?

Monte lites a stick of dynamite in the thread!

Actually I have also worried about the pga team play possibilities. But if an RC was instituted would that not make any delays that much longer?

Another question: Would the RC's be situational to the tournament or the same rc's already in play in the rest of kdice?

I also like option #2.

The tourny games are going to be slightly different than regular kdice in that the game can start with less than 7 players. So to reduce the wait between games under #2 how about a 20 round limit per game? At round 20, if the game is still going it ends with current positions.

doesn't this give an unfair advantage to the last player? The last player in round 20 will just always attack out and then end turn. I can already imagine the forum posts the day after MTT starts with people bitching about how 3rd place can ninja attack out in round 20 and take 1'st place points with the 4'th most dice

I'll point out the biggest problem with early stopping which I can easily foresee given my 250 IQ:

The last player can suicide without repercussion.

Also, I would suggest that observers have a chat room, and players have another, and none the twixt shall meet.

No. It's completely different. I used the word repercussion.
