New Dom Calc based on previous round is bad...

Having people suiciding out to get more dom was not a problem, being screwed out of dom you earn though is.
Ryan, please remove this dom fix and go back to how it was last month. Please. Thank you -Sam |

This hasn't really been discussed by any of the mods ALTHOUGH it was mentioned several times by different people. Could somebody please share some thoughts on that? |

at 11:46 PM, Tuesday September 9, 2008 EDT I agree. The penalty for bad starts or bad luck during the beginning or being the last player with a bad position is WAAAYYY to severe. I like the idea of rewarding hanging in there, but I honestly liked the old dom better.

I am affraid the small advantages of the new system don't can't compensate for the bigger disadvantages it has. It was a good try to improve things. It might be better to keep it an entire month to avoid mid-month changes but maybe we need to evaluate it after the end of this month? |

I just don't think you should be punished for beating your enemies into submission. That and the bad start thing is really vicious right now, this doesn't really bother me as much as my previously stated problem but it seems to be an issue with others. I mean this thread has had some play from a variety of players not just people that hang out in 2.5k mostly. Also I think the current system is encouraging more farming this was not an intended consequence but currently players are staying in longer and feeding more dom to first instead of flagging when they should. This might just because people don't really understand the new dom and might decrease over time but with the requirement to stay around longer to "earn" the dom I think it is more of a permanant change in game style. Ryan I am pleading for you to take a look at the dom calc and please rethink how this is working. I know your point with the change I just think is went to far for what you wanted to accomplish and maybe some comprimise would limit the exploitation you saw in the old system well at the same time making sure to reward good play. |
