Early in the days of kdice, it was called light blue, aqua, and\or turquoise. I started calling it teal as a joke and it took off.
However, I assure you that it is NOT teal. The colors in kdice are taken from the 16 original DOS ANSI colors (btw, purple is magenta but I don't want blow your mind). Aqua is theoretically an acceptable alternative. Quite easy to see how ludicrous teal is by navigating here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Teal_(color) Now back to work my silly proles. |

Time to rain on your parade. The same debate was had a long time ago. Someone even built a stone cirlce to help... hang on, that was Stonehenge. But is was a long, long time ago. Several issues came up including that the colours will appears differently on different peoples monitors. Someone even posted a site with colour charts and from that the opinion was that the 7th colour was "teal". Anyone want to go back through the chat and find out?! EG |

yeah, and while we're at it, we could add crazy features to the colors like, blue always gets +1 on defense and red never fails a +1 roll, or green getting an additional dice every round, while black has the ability to capture dice. also the maps should have rivers and mountains. and seasons!!! when its winter you can connect across water. that would be fun shevar: jurg this is a serious issue that was overdue of being adressed. please stop making fun of it. we are trying to contribute to kdice constructively. jurgen: sure shevar, my bad, it will never happen again ;-) |

at 4:52 PM, Thursday September 4, 2008 EDT What a pleasant rejoinder EG and a substantive entry to this fine debate upon colours. I find the following instructive:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Shades_of_cyan Cyan is a broader category of colour with a much richer history. Teal is a more specific colour taken from the color displayed on a teal duck (true story): http://cache.eb.com/eb/image?id=41482&rendTypeId=4 Almost certainly it would require a monitor to be put into 'emo mode' to make teal appropriate to our kdice game? |
