This game has the most retarded scoring system. You are basically only rewarded if you have an outstanding random luck draw to start. There is absolutely no reward for working your way up from the bottom which is the highest skill one can have.

A perfect strategic game that leaves you with 2nd or 3rd place after a bad start, but for which you spent most of the time with a handful of lands, leaves you with a horrible score.

at 11:57 AM, Tuesday August 19, 2008 EDT Christian is right. There are a number of times when with that crap start it just makes more sense to go for the minimal dom that you can. In fact, if you play that way you can often get more points flagging at 7th then if you were to hang in there and fight your way to 4th sometimes even 3rd.
I don't care about how other people compare or how it "averages out". Super.... i can go less negative than a lot of other players. yay? All I'm saying is that as it is the points reward people who have bad starts and attack like crazy for no real strategic reason. In fact, that's probably how I get less negatives than other people. Does that make me a good player? Plain and simple, there is something wrong with a system that encourages one to fight poorly and then run away in a war game. |

Most of the time, but not all of the time, taking lands during your turn seems to have no effect on your dom score until your turn is over. Or sometimes your dom score may climb during your turn and fall back some when your turn is over. So I am not precisely sure how dom is calculated. |
